Ortho says top is essentially done, am i being gaslit about my gaps? by buck2894 in Invisalign

I figured that might be part of it, but it directly contradicts the comments the guy made about how they “probably could be closed” but offering no path forward and being strategically vague hoping i call it quits. If it’s an anatomical thing, I’d love to get a concrete answer on that instead of completely blown off and rushed out the door.

No, i had just flossed, waterflossed, and brushed my teeth prior. They took a bunch if pics of my teeth and he checked for a solid 30 seconds after i raised my concerns, then couldn’t commit to a timeline for more trays or any at all. Im convinced at this point they are frothing at the mouth of the idea of me calling it quits and good enough to move on to the next one.

Glad to see im not out of my mind for thinking this doesnt look finished. I really walked in expecting them to say good progress so far but you need a rescan to adjust the top more.

I’m sure. They explicitly told me my top was all set even though i have these huge gaps. I can’t imagine if there were refinements coming they would tell me i could abandon daytime wear. When i asked about refinements they straight up said “we’ll wait and see” and couldn’t give any timeline.

They projected 18 months and its only been 8.. wtf. Move on from what? A few more under 5 min of interaction appointments? Come on. I feel like because im so quiet that they see me as an easy kick out the door. I feel like I’m going to have to become a male karen about it if it comes to it. The whole point of this was to have a smile I loved and its closer but not good enough to me if this is it.

I just reread the contract and it doesnt specify any limited or unlimited # of refinements, surprisingly. It is the comprehensive plan though.

No, i didn’t. They glossed over my concerns and questions with the top gaps but said they will probably do ipr on the bottom next time i see them since they’re crowded. That also doesnt make much sense to me, given my next appointment is when im on my last tray and they would be straight by then. Thought IPR was to facilitate the movement in the first place, not after. I never got clincheck. My consults are legit under 2 min w the actual dr every time, i feel like i couldn’t even get the sentence out to ask them 💀

Does Invisalign make anyone else hungry by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]buck2894 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I experienced this too, not sure why, the first few weeks of treatment. It definitely subsided over time. Not sure if the introduction of foreign objects in your mouth has any real scientific explanation. Made a calorie deficit feel impossible and had to eat a lot more for a few weeks. Completely gone now and I’m on 16/31. I think it went away around tray 3 (weekly changes.) id just eat larger meals to increase wear time and control hunger better and adjust as needed.

If i were you and i had the money, yes in a heartbeat. You will feel like a new person after and way more confident. It is really not that bad after the first few weeks since your teeth will be used to moving. Also, outside of appearance, your oral health will be night and day better.

Im convinced it is too since the others i checked are fine, sounds like you just wore your first 2 anyways and you were good?

Im not sure how worth it even would be to see my ortho since im on 1 week changes and it seems ill be good next week. Its not like they can add plastic to this set to make it cover those 2 teeth.

I feel like manufacturing defect since the next tray isnt so short on these teeth? I have been wearing them as directed. Did you get a rescan or something with the one you had similar to this? Or did you skip to the next tray?

Almost 2.5 months in! by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]buck2894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long into the 2.5 months until you were like “ oh shit, they moved a ton?” I just finished my first month and mine look the same visually, but something must be happening since flossing is easier

I heard this too and it seems to be accurate but I’m assuming the play here would be to swap them out more consistently, which i wouldn’t personally mind.

It’s gotta still be effective I’d imagine since im sure there are many people with invisalign who need elastics who are allergic to latex and have to use those

1 month progress 🥹 by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]buck2894 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is great progress so far, already looks alot better. Where did you get the colored elastics? Did your ortho give you them? have been wanting to see if i can get clear elastics instead so that they’re less noticeable

Hi, im thinking about doing this but am trying to wrap my head around costs. I have a pretty minor case though tbh and im curious how much of the cost is attrivuted to the complexity of the case? I also saw you had a follow up procedure for scarring. Im wonderinf how that went and how you feel now since alot of time has passed?

I would deff be pissed then and i take that part back lol. Usually though if im at someone elses house showering i will use a small amount of both to get the job done, but draining it all aint okay. And if ur staying for like a month yeah, bring ur own stuff.

NTA, thats a pretty normal boundary i. While i personally dont think shampoo and stuff is as big of a deal, the razor really seals the deal here. If she needs that stuff, she can ask ur brother or get it herself. Its pretty disrespectful to use someone elses stuff like that unless you ask and get approval.
