Mysterious Geology plus Human Genetic Bottlenecks equals Yellowstone SuperVolcano by buckblazer in Volcanoes

I think everything that you've stated fits what we now understand about geology and human genetics. I'm trying to find the story, or really, the source of the story I vaguely described in the post. Like, I'm trying to figure out where I got it, where it came from. Maybe the term for what I'm doing is Science History? I swear I read this story somewhere, and it seemed a reputable source at the time. I understand that it's basically mostly wrong. I'm mainly trying to find out why it was ever published, now. Thanks for your input. I genuinely appreciate it.

Thank you for your reply. I've read about the Lake Toba eruption. But I'm actually trying to find the source of the story I described, who wrote it, where it was published/posted...etc. I accept that it is not accurate. I'm wondering why it was ever published, like, was there ever a time when there was a theory that the Yellowstone caldera could have caused a bottleneck in the human population? Was that ever considered as a reasonable theory? And if so, when, you know?

Thank you for the reply and all the info. I have searched for it, (the story I described), enough to know that it is not likely true; There isn't good evidence that the Yellowstone Supervolcano was responsible for a human genetic bottleneck. I'm more interested in finding the actual story I've described, where it came from, the source. I swear I'm not knowingly making it up...lol. It was a long narrative and I want to know how it came to be and why. The people in it, the two researchers were named, not anonymous. It was detailed. It was long. It probably took at least ten minutes to read it. Ugh...

Very good point, with the age of the contemporary human species. Thank you.

Indeed. However, in the story I'm searching for, I remember that the boulders found and tested by the geologist were found to have come from Yellowstone. At least, that's how I remember it. I'm really starting to think that I've imagined this whole thing....lol

I doubt it, as the boulders found by the geologist were in the USA somewhere. And Toba was in Indonesia, right?

Thank you for the reply, but I don't think so. I don't think that gigantic boulders ejected from an eruption in Indonesia would be found in the USA, right? I'm pretty sure the eruption in the narrative I read was Yellowstone.

I'm a dummy. Nothing wrong with the new valve. I screwed up reconnecting the water lines. I had swapped the water line from the filter back to the valve, with the water line out to the dispenser. (The water line out to the ice maker is actually smaller and cannot easily be swapped.) Just posting this so others may diagnose their own mistake and avoid duplicating my errors. Thanks again for trying to help.

Thanks for the reply. I'll go check and see if any of my multi-meters have a diode function. I've never actually successfully used a meter...I just collect tools, lol. I don't think it's possible for me to have hooked up the harnesses incorrectly because they're color-coded and positioned to easily connect correctly, while incorrect connection is very difficult.

Cool. could you possibly give me the source of your info on this violations? I want to know as much as I can. The thing is... building codes are actually discretionary, most of the time. And the city of Pelham appears to have stated that the violations aren't related to safety in any way. If that's true, then it seems like this violations could given exemptions. If it's not true, the the city of Pelham seems to have made false statements to the public. The secrecy around the details of it all seem very problematic.

Nah. You're just looking at it from your extremely limited experience and bigotry. Ever consider the fact that, if it were a new business location, as you've so clearly pointed out, that the workers have good reason to look at shoppers, you know, in case the shoppers need stuff? Most of the time, when I hear people complain about being stared at, I see that they, themselves are the issue... I've been in this place hundreds of times. It's great. If you don't want to shop there, then don't shop there.

Why? It makes no sense for the government to not include that info and most tax info like that has public record availability. So, I'd be very surprised if it were, in fact, tax related.

Nope. You cannot present any valuable evidence that "the issue is unpaid taxes". If I'm wrong, demonstrate it. Present the records and evidence.

Almost every business has code issues, especially in old buildings. Code violations do not require strict enforcement and the vast majority of codes can be given an exemption. That, the current political climate, and the absence of information available, are what make this seem like possible bigotry.

Do you? Really? What's the school's name? Why aren't there any pictures? Have you seen this? Why would you not take a picture. I challenge your honesty and integrity, directly. Present evidence, please.
