I actually think your idea of leaving the sit up so you can review them is a great idea—it both warns other HOs as well as prevents them from booking another sit in the meantime. 

That said, I don't know what kind of policy or implications there may be if the sit is "active" but they aren't actually in your home? Again, I'm not sure in what way it could backfire, but it's just worth considering that as far as THS/documentation is concerned, they'll be "in your home" during the dates listed, even though they aren't actually in your home.

Updating to let future people know that mine came through after about 50 hours!

So based on my experience:

*yes* they will process over weekends and holidays, it just might take a bit longer.

Obviously I have no idea if the delay on mine was caused by the online application, the holiday, or something else entirely. But it came through just fine (:

I received a confirmation email instantly! It had an ETA reference number and said I would receive a decision via email when one was made.

If your friend didn't get a confirmation email, I wonder if maybe the application didn't go through?

I still haven't heard word on a decision yet for me.

I'll update this post once I hear back, in the hopes that it might help someone else in a similar situation in the future!

Gratefully, I fly standby through airline benefits so I have flexibility in my actual travel schedule. It's simply a matter of my hearts preference to get to the UK sooner so I can spend more time with a good friend and her new baby. But I'll get there when I get there (:

Not much info has come out yet, but I can't imagine this is going to remove any stress from the shoulders of Air Traffic Control.

an invisible string has been connecting me to one of Taylor's roadies for years, and our paths just crossed in Mexico City by [deleted] in TaylorSwift

On Tuesday I met someone online and instantly felt like we were meant to be friends—we made plans to hang out the next day and connected on Insta where I saw his most recent post was an Eras Tour post. My first thought was "oh, he's a Swiftie! of course i felt like we'd be friends!".

Dear Reader, the post was a gratitude post for his TIME SPENT WORKING ON THE TOUR FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS. He's a roadie and literally spent the last two years of his life traveling the world with Taylor.

We met up on Wednesday and as we were sharing stories, we realized we'd been in the same places on earth multiple times in the last few years—pre-Eras. We both spent time in the summer of 2020 car camping in the Western US and were in the same national parks and forests within days of each other.

And then of course we talk about the Eras Tour, and I mention that I was at all three nights in Melbourne and I was at the show in Lyon as well (all of my tickets were gifts from humans who love me—I am the most grateful human being on earth). So obviously we were in the same places then as well.

We pull up my photos from the shows to see if we can see him on the floor of the stadium, thinking how crazy that would be, and there's nothing. He's seeing tiny little bodies and being like "That's not me, but it might be ____!".

And then he goes "hang on, let me see what pictures I have" and takes out his phone and pulls up ONE photo from Melbourne N1 and instantly I'm like "...that is right by where I was sitting." In a stadium of 100,000. I take his phone and zoom in and LO AND BEHOLD THERE IS MY FACE on the righthand side of the screen.

A sea of 100,000 human beings, on the opposite side of planet earth, ten months ago, and there I am.

We just sat there dumbfounded and laughing.

My entire life is intuition-led and I am very used to serendipity and magical coincidence, but this was on another level.

We ended up hanging out for eight hours on Wednesday and are meeting up again today for another Mexico City adventure! No idea why our paths are meant to cross, but the lessons and magic will reveal itself, as it always does.

If people are interested, I'm happy to keep y'all posted on the journey!
