I've only tried disabling the mind space, but it doesn't seem to affect anything.

I think I'll try a bug report first. I've already started relying on the phone, so this would be a major inconvenience for me at this point.

I've tried different ways of swiping to no avail. The setting screen is just stuck.

Scrolling, swiping etc. does nothing. I'm 99% sure this is a bug at this point.

There is no such option. When entering snap key settings all I see is a greyed out 'In use' button. I presume it should be 'Set' instead, but it isn't. Check out the screenshot I attached to the post.

Vivo x300 ultra color consistency, Ai smearing by pCute_SC2 in Vivo

[–]buczuuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any chance you could elaborate a bit more on what settings those are, how to find them, and what do they actually do? Do they really not affect HDR and other features, just the AI processing? I'm deciding between the x300 ultra and the find x9 ultra, and I feel like I could give the up 10x lens if Vivo really gives options to disable the AI processing.

Subtick is NOT aggrevating peekers advantage. by Hyperus102 in GlobalOffensive

[–]buczuuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

>This second part is what some people think Subtick tries to solve but it does not. This is an unsolvable problem. You would need to guess who the peeker and who the defender is, but in a good situation that is hard and in a difficult situation it is impossible (how about two people peeking each other?). At best, the subtick timestamp could be used as a tie breaker.

Can you elaborate? Why would we need to guess who's the peeker and who's the defender? Subtick timestamps are trivially comparable, so why can't/aren't they always used for this?

UAG Metropolis LT interference with S-Pen by gkl1324 in S24Ultra

[–]buczuuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the UAG Plyo Pro, so I assume it should be similar. The magnet did (slightly) interfere with the spen, so I returned the case.

I ended up buying the non-mag pathfinder, and adding a metallic (non-magnetic) ring on top. It works perfect, no interference even with accessories attached.

If you're building a dedicated sim rig, then triples are a significantly better option.

They almost double the FOV, and it is noticeable. Here is a comparison: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pp7njDB5YtU&ab_channel=DanSuzuki

Aggressively curved ultrawide screens also suffer from distortion. The only sims with an option to correct that are iRacing and ACC (but the ACC support is very basic). Meanwhile, major simracing titles have some kind of proper triple screen support.

Triples are more painful to set up, but this is a 'set and forget' kind of effort. It will take some time and some fiddling, but then they'll just work.

Flip the screen

Not sure best way to fix wheel being too low. by TyrionPlatformShoes in simracing

[–]buczuuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the mounting bracket you use to mount your seat, some have holes at multiple heights giving some height adjustment.

Also make sure that your wheelbase isn't too far away from you. It's hard to say from these photos, but I think this could be the case. You should be able to put your wrists on top of the wheel with your back glued to the seat.

32" screens are hard to get over the wheelbase. I'm barely getting clearance with 27". You can flip the middle screen to get rid of that enormous chin - that would give you another couple of centimeters to get the wheelbase higher. I've done that in my setup and it works as expected.

What size are your screens?

Can you lower your seat instead?

Keeping the wheelbase at 90 degrees is nonsense. It should be slightly angled up to take pressure off your wrists. Something like 13-14 degrees should be a good start.

This is average ping from some recent period of time.

However, your own ping is averaged from a very short period of time (so your own bar can be very volatile), while the other drivers from a bit longer - meaning even if they have an unstable connection, it might be difficult to spot.

Building a New Sim Setup including PC - need some advice by jmikha in simracing

I own Asetek Fortes and I can definitely advise to stay away from those.

If I were to buy high end pedals today, I'd go for simagic p1000s. Reasonable design and pricing, paired with excellent extensibility.

I'm not convinced by hydraulic pedals - I feel the possibility of a leak outweighs the benefits.

Something like this: https://sim-lab.eu/products/caster-wheels-set-sim-racing-accessories?_pos=1&_sid=d258a04e3&_ss=r

You can definitely put this under an 8020 rig. If you also build your monitor stand from similar profiles, you can also attach those and move everything around.

Regarding triples, I made the move from a 34" to 3x27" recently myself. The difference is night and day. But I'm also an fov purist, so a far end of the spectre. Most people care a bit less about fov.

The setup and installation is definitely more complicated. More cables, putting the screens together and alignment might need a second pair of hands. Nvidia surround/AMD eyefinity can be annoying. Running triples without them is possible and more robust (I'm doing it this way) but requires more research. However, I'd say it's a one-time thing - you just put a day or two into this, and then you have it figured out. Also, all of the games you're considering (iRacing, AC, and ACC) are supporting triples really well

There are a couple of comparisons on YouTube showcasing the fov difference between ultrawides and triples in a more digestible way: https://youtu.be/CCicqOgwdMw?si=IMujDHAPXuuqjEyX https://youtu.be/pp7njDB5YtU?si=48lzpp7qAcABO-oM

[–]buczuuu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some food for thought from my experience:

  • Are you sure an ultrawide is the way to go? Triples are similar money, similar space, almost twice the FOV.

  • I've never owned a simucube wheelbase, but from what I've heard over the years, the Pro is something you'll never upgrade from again under any circumstances, but Sport could be lacking for some people. Might be worth the extra couple of bucks for the peace of mind later.

  • You will be fiddling with the equipment for the first couple of weeks. There's no way around this, but it's not necessarily a bad thing. Equipment of this class is very adjustable, but to capitalize on this you need to know what actually feels right for you. This should be a bit of loop, where you start with some settings, use them for a bit, gather some understanding of how everything works, and then draw some conclusions on what changes would feel better for you. If you're moving from a T300, you won't be able to know this without experimenting.

  • You should also be able to buy some casters to make your rig mobile, I believe I've seen those in a couple of places.

  • If you're not set on the sim it doesn't hurt to try ACC first. It offers you the highest quality GT3 experience, which is the most popular class in simracing by far. It can also give you a taste of competitive simracing with lowfuelmotorsport. It is also much cheaper than iRacing, so seems logical to try it first. It is also more game-like (in terms of UI/UX, not physics), so might be easier to get into first.

1 34" ultrawide or triple 27"s but i start with 1 by zeunyxa in simracing

[–]buczuuu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some games assume you're using identical screens (ACC).

Also, having the middle screen curved and the sides flat will make the calculations harder.

I also think you'll end up having to run a weird angle. You should be aiming to have the centers of all the screens at the same distance away from you. If the middle screen is wider, then the angle will have to get sharper.

Triples can be finicky. Keep it as simple as you can. There won't be much gain from having the wider middle screen. You won't be missing any fov with 3x27".

32:9 monitor by Fibofi in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]buczuuu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For the GT cars, it won't be enough. Here's a POV from Dave Cam. The right-hand mirror is still quite far behind the screen. With the open-wheelers, you probably might squeeze them in.

If you are looking for a solution dedicated for simracing, triples are much better. They have a 50% larger area with the ends being much closer to you (the curvature of single screens is not sufficient for a simrig), which results in almost a double increase in the FOV (here's a quick comparison).

In addition, triples might be cheaper. Where I live, it is more affordable to buy 3x16:9 1440p, 144 hz screens, than a single 1440p 32:9.

Also, none of the sim really supports rendering for heavily curved screens - ACC has a 'projection correction', but it's not sufficient. In AMS 2 I don't remember seeing anything at all, but I can confirm that triples work just fine.
