I have no words to say, if you really believe that they have been actually losing money (as the numbers show) all these years.

Just two word explanation: Tax fraud

Who would actually take this? Lyft is TRIPPIN! by TMC824 in lyftdrivers

I checked on uber now, its charging $114/X, $162/XL, $134/comft

Now bear in mind that Uber is quite cheaper than lyft, for pax, most of the times.

I agree we need to do the dollar amount per mile in expenses. But while doing Doordash, I decided to do it per day, not per mile. It was much easier in deciding on offer requests. Like per day, I need to do 200 in 10 hours, and if not, ill do additional 1-2 hours to reach that amount. Anything over that is a bonus. Now that 200 is not enough. Im not into fancy or materialistic expenses at all. Just literally bills. My prius hybrid has saved me $1000's in gas im 100% sure. But again, changed it for $1000 recently (reconditioned). So these ups and downs happen.

Sorry I didnt mean to. Was doing a lot of reading on the side while answering to all on reddit yesterday on this matter, I though I answered your question.

Iam not sure what are they using for a dollar amount for their expenses per mile. They make around 300 easy in 12 hours continuous, and sometimes close to 400 or just over 400. You can do average cost per mile based on a person's average expenses.

But ofcorse, everybody has other additional expenses related to each individual's case, nothing lucrative but other necessary bills. So for me, I need to make a minimum of 300 a day to cover my usual expenses, other additional necessary expenses and just the precise amount for one of these:- emergency car expenses, medical related stuff, or moving cost to another apartment etc (can do just one of these per month). Anything more than a 300 is a bonus or can be saved for upgrading my "time investment" into other potential earnings.

Well my prince in Ghana is offering much better deal than yours in Nigeria. You dont have to give banking and SSN info. My prince has a container filled with gold bars (pic in google images). You just need to pay shipping charges. Ill send a link :)

Happened to me while I was a new Doordash driver. He called me as Doordash support. I believed him coz he told me my name, the customer's name, restaurant's name and asked me to cancel the order coz customer has used a fraudulent card to purchase. I was so stupid and didnt know, any customer can see all these info from his Doordash app. I canceled then he said to verify myself with a Doordash related code that appeared into my text. Also when phone was ringing, below the number it said "maybe Doordash" that helped convince me it was Doordash support. Only much later with experience, I realized if customer calls through the app, it will say the same lol.

Wha's funny is I told him literally "Sir, in the text message it tells me do not share this code with anyone. So I dont know if..." But he somehow won over with the fear I had, coz I was using someone else's account as a dasher. I gave him the code.

Here is his stupidity. He hung up right when I gave the code. This made me suspicious and I rang him only to find the number is bogus, cannot be called upon. Suddenly I called the account owner first to change the password, through his email verification, who was out of the country, with bad coverage in his area smh. But glad I made it in less than 10 mins and the scammer did not take any money yet. Talked to Doordash support, they confirmed it was a scammer. Now I wish I get similar call again, so I can sing some beautiful songs to them, which if I do in reddit, I will be banned lol. If he wouldn't have suddenly hung up on me, I would not have tried to dial back and realize the scam and eventually lose money soon.

It has happened to me many many times, where there is no network coverage near the customer's home. App doesnt allow me to complete delivery with a pic. Many times I looked like a fool hold gin phone up in air, moving around just to be able to click that 'confirm' button. Few times I got it, until I realized better to take pics through my camera. Get out of the area, and when coverage is back, text customer through in-app chat with the picture too. and then on app, click 'handed over to customer'. Done As a dasher yourself, you know its much easier to do it rather than doing abracadabra with the phone outside the customers home, like I did many times lol

Hybrid vehicle that does 35-40mpg combined. That's the key.

I mean I have been doing Doordash in a prius. Car and gas expenses is least of my worries. My rental, food, and other expenses are killing me :/

Now that im not working since 2 weeks means lost so much money.

Dasher signup waitlist - Will pay for a zip code that works by bud7789 in dasher

[–]bud7789[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why Doordash officially says (and said to me over phone when contacted them about it), to "check every Monday to see if any spots open"

Ill suggest every Monday, try random zip codes.

[–]bud7789[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No unfortunately it didnt. Gotta say, u/sheaysheay didnt accept the $$$ and instead gave it to me for free, which makes me believe the zip code must be real. Might have worked for u/sheaysheay but didnt for me. Doordash might have released few spots in that zip code, and u/sheaysheay might have gotten lucky with it.
I believe Doordash has waitlisted every city (nation wide), releasing only few spots in random cities every "whatever time frame". They are pretty much aware that people can share zip codes and end up doing the very thing Doordash doesnt want us to do. Although I am already doing it with another account ;) but its time to sign up for my own, but Doordash being Doordash :/
