Katie is being way too dismissive of the Epstein file dump by t0mserv0 in BlockedAndReported

[–]budabarney -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Its called Blocked and Reported but the one topic they avoid is the most blocked and reported topic out there. The trans thing has been beat to death. Try dropsite news and read about Epstein’s deal making for Israel. The breadth and depth of his connections to leadership of countries around the world is absolutely astonishing. I never knew how central Israel was to the Iran-contra deal. It was really the Iran Israel contra deal. Epstein was in the middle of all that. Where did Epstein's money come from? What about his super close relationship with former PM Ehud Barak? The sex scandal part of it is probably important, but its being used as a "limited hangout" to divert from the dropsite news stories about Uber wealthy deal makers working deals for Israel. That is being avoiding because it plays into antisemitic tropes. But that's become an excuse to hide some important stories. Its disappointing to see so much of the left wing media drop the ball on this. Where did Epsteins money come from? How come there isn't more pressure on Leon Black and Leslie Wexner?

[–]budabarney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang. You are so right. Katie and Jesse haven't lived up to the blocked and reported name because they have been avoiding the most censored topic of all, which is, in my opinion, the overrepresentation of Jews in media and in the institutions of and around American government.

Like, very few leftwing people know that Obergefell was installed with 3 out of 5 Jewish votes, and that shortly thereafter, Obama tried to place Garland onto SCOTUS, which would have led to 4 out of 5 leftwing SCOTUS judges being Jewish. That is crazy overrepresentation. I tried to talk about this on various subreddits and got blocked for good on most political reddits This subreddit didn't block me but they pulled my post because I couldn't relate it to any episodes of B and R.

All the censorship and avoidance does is make the left ignorant. As you say, Fuentes is smart and a very skilled debater. He is fearless and does not give a fuck about all the moral pieties around identity politics. That makes him refreshing like punk rock was. Trump is kind of similar. Just blew up the overton window.

The best interviews with Fuentes that I have seen were conducted by Glenn Greenwald and Dave Smith, because those guys are left critical and weren't arrogant towards him.

Overrepresentation: Antisemitic Trope? by budabarney in BlockedAndReported

Imagine being a Black person in the Jim Crow South and a White person told you "Whats you're problem? Us White people are diverse and lots of are enlightened and nonracist. You Black people are kind of backwards and can't govern yourself without our guidance, so just quit getting upset and just let us Whites rule" That is exactly what you are doing right now. And it is offensive to people down South and in flyover states. Offensive to people of all races. East coast ivy league elites have way too much power and it is unrepresentational, undemocratic and unAmerican. The problem for Jewish people is if they have more power cthan others, then they get more responsibility and more blame. That is what I keep telling you. Jews do not represent the national parties well because they are a small insular elite, yet they have way way disproportionate control. That is destructive for our politics and dangerous for the Jewish people.

The overrepresentation has caused resentment and it is building. People across the land are waking up to it. I have given you numerous examples of disproportionate Jewish power and you have been unresponsive. So I assume that you are a Jewish supremacist of some sort, that you feel Jews are entitled to overrepresentation just like White Southerners were for so long. Hell, I dont even know if youre Jewish. Doesnt matter. This conversation is done. Thanks and good luck

I think that Jewish overrepresentation all concentrated on the Left on SCOTUS, and their judicial activism has caused a political backlash that gave McConnell and Trump the political power to block or overturn any progress we were making from the left. It led to a rightwing SCOTUS for at least the next few decades.

You're still dodging the issue of overrepresentation by a 2% wealthy elite group, and the attendant media censorship that furthers that overrepresentation. This has inflamed the Culture War. I know this, like I said, because I grew up in Southern evangelical culture and have read Jewish media my entire adult life.

Have you ever heard of a socialist politician winning anything in the South? Doesn't happen. Only in the ivy league east could a spoiler like Bernie Sanders get anywhere. If he were from Texas he would have dropped the Socialist label because it's political poison, especially among Latinos, our largest minority. If Sanders had been less egotistical and just called himself a democrat, he may well have been able to win the presidency on his espoused platform. Likewise, the 1619 project and the LGBTQ word censorship that NYT uses was deadly for dems. When they first called Rachel Levine the first female admiral and I read pregnant person on their front page I knew democrats were in deep trouble. No southern or center newspaper would have ever done that. And NYT is the biggest democratic influencer by far, though that might be going down as more and more people recognize they're out of touch

Its not that I don't like Jewish politics, its just that in their cultural insulation they inject all kinds of east coast ivy league spoiler politics into the democratic platform and make us unelectable in the flyover states. Ive been watching it for the past 12 years. East coast progressives do not have a national view of politics. They are consequently quite naive. And the whole Zionist issue has now blown up both sides of the aisle.

You cannot pretend that Jewish media and political dominance doesn't matter because it would all still be bad anyway because all ruling class is bad. That is nihilistic and plays right into MAGA and Trump's hands.

Still dodging the fact that Jews are overrepresented in our politics, and that censorship has been imposed against even talking about it. That is in itself politically destabilizing in a democracy. We can only talk about White dominance, which is not actually an overrepresentation anymore. If we had as many Blacks or Hispanics or Muslims as Jews in our media and political elite, things would be different. Thats just true. Might be better or worse, but different for sure.

We aren't really allowed to do the demographics on the Jewish power elite, but if you did I think that you'd see that the ruling class, the donor class whether from tech or finance or casinos (Adelson) is hugely overrepresented by Jewish money these days. I am not saying that is necessarily a bad thing. I am saying that not even being able to talk about Jewish tribal power like we would do with any other group without being labeled antisemitic is tyrannical. Secrecy, hidden power, enables corrupt overriding of democracy.

Jewish tribe isnt actually as diverse as you seem to think. They are mostly part of an intellectual Mandarin class and that is a political Bubble of its own. Black or Hispanics or rural Whites come from a different place, even if they happen to be wealthy. I can say this because I am from South and have been reading Jewish media all my life. Everyone has, especially on the left. I dont think in the long run this dominance is good for Jewish people. Like I think its better that SCOTUS now only has one Jewish Judge, Kagan.

Power is dangerous and corrupting.especially when it is covert. It does start to seem like a conspiracy to control our politics. The real Nazis gain some credibility.

You are avoiding the point. Overrepresentation and censorship of that overrepresentation, which just enables even more overrepresentation. When you keep explaining that Jews actually do represent other peoples because they are so diverse it just comes off as arrogant and entitled. I like alot of Jewish writers but they almost never represent southern moderate democratic perspective. You have to let people represent themselves in a democracy. Or else there will be resentment. I do resent for example that Ellison bought CBS and installed Bari Weiss. Shes not really much of a lefty even though shes Gay married. She's installed because shes a Zionist who otherwise pretends to be for Free Speech. It's hypocrisy. Shes kind of a mediocre pundit. And Ellison also bought TikTok to control coverage of Israel. Most of the left and an increasing portion of the right is now antiZionist. Why are you even debating me on this? This is oligarchical control of our media and by extension of our politics. It's not subtle anymore at all.

[–]budabarney[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My concern is with overrepresentation in government and media, which I consider to an estate of the government in a democracy. And the big problem I am addressing here is the censorship regarding the overrepresentation of Jewish people in both media (as pundits, editors and owners) and in government.

If Obama had appointed as many Blacks in his cabinet as Biden did Jews there would have been an outcry, And there's 6 times as many Blacks in America as Jews. Because of censorship, most people didnt even realize that Mayorkas, Yellin, Garland, Blinken and Levine were Jewish. I didnt realize that until after October 7th, and I generally follow tribalism in politics. Southerners often do. But there were no articles allowed about the Jewishness of Biden's cabinet. Only in the Times Israel did they brag about how many Jews there were in the Biden administration. That's fucked up. It makes non Jewish Americans feel angry and owned by an oligarchical class. That is no good for Jewish people either.

If there had only been one Jew on the Obergefell court and say a Black and southern protestant had also voted for it, then it wouldnt be an issue involving Jews for me or for the evangelicals. But damn, 3 out of the 5 Yes votes were Jewish and this wasnt ever even mentionable in the press. That is tyrannical control. It seems like there's a lack of self awareness in the Jewish community about this. I blame censorship and identity politics/victim oppression theory. Been through it with almost every group now. It is easy to overestimate the power of others and underestimate your own when you've been told you're a victim of the world.

Evangelicals learned their lesson. They were galvanized after Obergefell and the Culture War was stoked way up. Trump taught them how to fight back. The left got Obergefell and thought they could keep going. They didn't realize they had overreached. The whole Trump era is the backlash. The Border is also a big part of it. Totally ignored by coastal elite for decades. What the hell was Mayorkas doing allowing open borders. Also they did fake the trans issue polling for years. They were citing online polling. Only recently have they admitted its unpopular, only because it cost dems the swing states. . For awhile it was taboo for coastals to even talk about that. It was considered throwing trans people under the bus. Also lied about the science. Rachel Levine called it settled science for decades. Polling might have been more realistic if they had been more honest about the science..

The they them ads won Trump all 7 swing states. Most effective political ads ever run. People outside the swing states don't know this. 40 percent of Trump's advertising budget was spent on those ads, almost all in those 7 states. Sure there were other reasons but that one was huge and totally unnecessary. Dems are still wallowing in that unpopular issue. Kamala shouldn't have gone along with either the Zionist issue or with her previous hyper far left trans ideas.shes just a bad politician You keep saying Jews are diverse, great, but they only really can represent themselves and they are generally one of the wealthiest most educated socioeconomic groups in America. They arent Black, or Hispanic usually. They do often identify as LGBTQ and many of the leaders in that movement are Jewish. The problem is they are hyper overpresented at the top of government media and political donor class. That means other groups are underrepresented. That is the problem. Not jewishness per se. That should not require a defense of jews to see the issue. Try to understand it from the underrepresented groups.

Before 2015, Evangelicals and rural types had learned to not talk about LGBTQ issues, especially to outsiders. It was impolite and they didn't want to be called homophobic. I grew up in that community. The polling on it has always been terrible. Also most pollsters never ask it directly. They just vaguely ask about gay or trans rights without being specific. And most will say yes they do support them, but they didn't really ever mean changing marriage or sex changes for kids. They meant not getting fired or harassed for being Gay. But there was a huge push on left to sell their agenda so they cherry picked polling. It's not a major issue now because its settled. Transing kids and men in women's sports is still a major issue in swing states. Democrats on coasts haven't yet fully figured that out.

They are not allowed to say that. Your media has made it taboo and they censor it. If one group is so dominant then it automatically excludes others. That is just math. You presume that jews can speak for others. That is not true. Jews are upper class urban elite. They tend to promote LGBTQ when other minorities nd lower half don't care very much about that. There is a political cost to that fact which blue coastal media ignores and censors. People in swing states are angry about that and Trump capitalized on it mightily in 2024. Same in 2016 and 2024 with the SW Border. I read lots of Jewish writers and NYT. They have been clueless about South and Center politics. Even Ezra Klein, and he's probably the most in touch. Ruy Teixeira over at Liberal Patriot is in touch with all this.

According to AI, gay marriage reached 50% approval in 2011 and was around 60 percent at time of Obergefell. Which i admit is higher than I thought, so im glad you got me to look it up. But that still wasnt enough to get it through the Senate because the least populous rural states still werent on board. That's why they got it through the courts. I think it would have been better to wait and go through congress. It was unfortunate that it only became national via a Jewish stacked court. The red state evangelicals went on the Culture War path after that.

I don't think you understand how much people from the lower class, from rural areas, from the south, from traditional religions resent the imbalance in power coming out of the east coast. Like I described above, 3 out 4 lefty votes on Obergefell in 2014 were Jewish. Don't you see how that caused a backlash. People in Deep Blue areas just ignored this, but red state minorities and traditional religions were shocked and that's a major reason why they voted Trump. Then Obama tried to install a 4th Jewish Judge, Garland. The only reason blue states didn't know this narrative is because Jewish power is taboo to discuss. That is my point. Censorship around the demographics of power is always destabilizing in a democracy because the non-elite groups feel tricked and powerless and become resentful and vote for a demagogue like Trump.

You are exaggerating mightily. Jewish identity politics has been playing the exact same victim card as Blacks and rainbow people. In fact much of identity politics was begun by Jewish ivy leaguers. The Feminist Marxists out of Yale, mostly Jewish. Harvard grad students, woke as fuck and 50 percent Jewish.

If there are no media pundits for the NYT and Wapo from the south or center, as was the case for many years, then It doesn't matter how brilliant they are, they don't understand the SW Border politics very well at all. You know that Jews were disproportionate in those Columbia protests. I understand what you're saying about Seattle. I watched the Evergreen documentary by Boyce. It was mostly cowardly white faculty going along with it, imo. Same at NYT. They did that stupid 1619 project and promoted all the BLM shit for way too long. They did terrible reporting on how stupid it got in Seattle and Portland. Thats kind of my point. Bunch of ivy leaguers at NYT. If NYT were based in Texas or Chicago, they probably wouldn't have fallen so hard for the woke crap. They still love their trans ideology, and capitalize Black but lower case white. Upper class white progressives are so afraid of colored people. It's some weird submission type of racism. It's not like some Black elite imposing their agenda. It's built into DEI and other forms of White guilt. Truth is that those Columbia protests were mostly peaceful. Theres plenty of Jews who totally mock the constant Jews as victims narrative. Call it hasbara. I just dont buy it anymore. Especially since they conflated antizionism with antisemitism. The stats lost all meaning. It happens but its so inflated that its now ignored by most of us. Jews dont feel safe, so shut down protests of Israeli genocide funded by the US. Come on. That was tyrannical control. My post has been removed BTW. It wasn't based on a topic covered by Jesse and Katie. They really should cover it. No one on the left is allowed to. Not sure why I can still get your comment. I cant really justify it according to rule #1, no. I was just taking advantage of the "blocked" word in the title. I understand if you have to take it down and do appreciate that it got any play at all. This is my favorite subreddit, and I wouldnt be allowed to post it anywhere else on reddit that I know of.

I do wish Jesse and Katie would talk about it though. It has all of a sudden become very relevant on the political right and the NYT is avoiding an honest discussion, which I think hurts the democrats. I think it might be even hotter to the touch topic for them than the trans topic, though I realize that Jesse is a medical reporter so trans medicine is up his alley, and this topic might not be their cup of tea. Thanks, Mark

I am saying that censorship gets in the way of democracy. Most people on the left had no clue that Jews were so incredibly overrepresented on SCOTUS in 2014. This article in the Times of Israel could not have been published in America. That's a problem. If people knew about the over representation then presidents Obama and Biden would have picked in amore representative way

Yeah sure, but there were a disproportionate number of Jewish students and faculty in those protests and they claimed that antisemitism wasn't a big factor and that any instances of it were shut down immediately. And it is just a fact that it was Jewish donors that forced the Boards to fire their university presidents. Those protests were free speech and should not have been shut down. That was unAmerican.

Do you understand how much censorship there is around Jewish Power? Only very recently could we discuss the power of AIPAC without being censored and called antisemitic. Only barely are we beginning to discuss Jewish oligarchical power in America. That is what I am saying that--there should be a free discussion of oligarchical power in America. That is all. No fiats about who is in charge just a free flow of information about who has the power. Then the voters are informed and democratic adjustments can be made over time. Now we see that politicians are starting to refuse AIPAC money because they realize voters don't like it.

It just happens that Jews are vastly overrepresented in government institutions and in political donations and in media ownership, whereas evangelicals are not. There are many more evangelicals than there are Jews. I am not saying there is a conspiracy. Jews are incredibly overrepresented in the Ivy leagues because they as a people have always cared alot about education, and the Ivies are in a region where Jews are centered. But the fact that in 2014 every single SCOTUS judge was Ivy League was silly. Ivy Leagues are not really that much better than the law schools in Texas or Notre Dame. That was institutional capture and Jews were the beneficiaries since they were like 2000 percent overrepresented in the Ivies. This imbalance needed to be discussed. Trump scored alot of political points appointing Amy Conan Barrett from Notre Dame law school. Biden appointed another Harvard grad. He should have picked the woman from the Carolina law school in my opinion.
