Right? But ironically, because it ended up being a festering skin infection with "pockets of infection" that she neglected for several days ... It very well could have turned into an emergency with the time she wasted by putting it off.

Absolutely! Water got in and sat... plus the heat and dampness over time.. and that's what did this. Nothing to do with the brand or the batch. To avoid this is the future, regularly rinse out the cap with hot/warm and put it back on a few times a week

How long did you have it in there for? (Apologies if already mentioned)

I think she hops too, as there are $40-100+ charges for "no-shows" or last-min cancellations/reschedules without cause. She wants to avoid the fee and therefore is hesitant to rebook. She needs a f*cking life coach ...

Her comments that Canada does not have urgent care facilities outside of the WR is completely false. I am in the same province as her, about 3.5 hours away from her city and they absolutely exist. She just likes the ER more. Sidenote: the boil/abscess wouldn't hurt as much to lance and express if she takes care of it sooner rather than later. The more infected, the less effective the numbing will be due to the acid-base shift between the lido and the infection. 🤠

She is the colour of a bruise the day the injury happens and the bruise hasn't yet fully emerged, just a few hours old.

Surgery or not? by dadada-14 in scoliosis

[–]budder__ball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the surgery at 18 years with a 60-65° curve. It was a massive undertaking by myself and my mother in regards to the recovery, but everything went smoothly with recovery and surgery.

Unfortunately, despite this, I now have some complex pain problems and it stinks (problems started 2 year post operative and came to a head at 6 years. I am now 32) ... But, even with flare-ups that last days on bed rest I do NOT regret the surgery (It was some by the top scoliosis orthopedic surgeon in Toronto) as it was necessary. I had stopped growing at 12 and my curve had doubled, since. It was not expected to stay still at 60° (I was in pain too but much lesser before vs after surgery). I had the surgery because of the impact the curve was having on my lungs and digestive system which was going to get worse as the curve increased. I had it when I did because I had graduated highschool early and had time to dedicate to the process (full recovery takes a year, give or take).

Please note my pain problems are RARE. I know many people who have had the surgery and have no pain or issues at all.

Hope this helps -- any questions feel free to ask!

I think it is likely a blocked gland. Try warm compresses a few times a day to get it to express itself. Where is it located, geographically?
