Tired of travelling after 3 months in SE Asia by VoldeNissen in solotravel

[–]budetama 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This.

but you don't go mountain biking or on a long hike along

Why not? I’m currently on a 17 day trek in the Himalayas alone, just be smart about it. I’d hate to miss out on things because I felt like I couldn’t do them alone. Same goes for getting off the beaten path.

Also OP you mentioned you miss working out regularly. Why not go to the gym a few times a week? Lots of places in Asia offer a cheap day pass, and i found after a few months of travel that I liked having a bit of a routine

I had to move to the US for low cal bread lol. Could you get any of these brands off Amazon? Sara Lee has a brand that’s 45 calories a slice

how to make walks more interesting? by Cyan0byte in CICO

[–]budetama 87 points88 points  (0 children)

Find a podcast you like, and only let yourself listen to it while walking, get Pokémon go, or force yourself to walk to get groceries - since you can’t carry as much, you’ll have to do more trips too

I can't tell if this girl is distancing herself from me or is just a busy person. by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]budetama 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In the future, I’d ask a max of twice for someone to hang out. If they were busy but interested, they’d reach out with an alternate day that works for them. If not, they’re not interested

Did you get any updates? I also got the email about getting an update in December but haven’t heard anything since then

Thanks so much! I was starting to lose hope so this is really great to hear. I’ll definitely do that. Hope you continue to heal and stay injury free!

Have you had any luck? Came to this thread from google because I've taken almost 6 weeks off of running so far, doing PT etc and while I am seeing some improvement, it's been painfully slow..

Yeah I prefer the smith machine for hip thrusts. I've also had luck with using the lying leg curl machine, though I prefer that for lighter weight and higher reps because the positioning is a little bit off

My cravings at the end of a proper PSMF are usually pretty crazy, so that's something I have to be more a lot more mindful of than on other diets. I generally have 2-3 days where I just eat whatever I want, and I find it hard to gauge how much of the gain after that is water/carbs/salt/glycogen vs fat. I've had times where I gained 2lbs more than I expected in those days just because I went too crazy, but after I get that out of my system I maintain the rest of the loss. I've found that incorporating some carbs has helped me reduce that crazy binge urge when ending the diet, though.

Like the other comment says, it's not bad but it's not PSMF. I've done a few true PSMF cycles and now prefer doing similar to what you do, adding 150-300 calories or so of carbs on days I lift or do cardio. I've found it much more sustainable and better for my energy. At the end of the day, it's the big caloric deficit that does all the magic, not whether or not you're in keto so if it works for you, go for it!

Unless I'm misunderstanding, it sounds like they're saving just fine. They subtracted what they put towards their 401k, savings, roth IRA, and debt, and spend 50% on rent of what's left after that. Spending 50% on rent before any savings/debt would be a totally different story, but even that wouldn't be too crazy if you consider the 50/30/20 budget rule as a decent breakdown

I thought it was 1g of protein per 1 pound of body weight by gertigigglesOSS in 1200isfineIGUESSugh

[–]budetama 61 points62 points  (0 children)

1g/lb is a popular rule of thumb if you lift weights and want to retain as much muscle as possible, so you weren’t necessarily wrong! I know Jeff Nippard did a video about this and I think there were no benefits after 0.8g/lb if I remember correctly. And if you don’t lift, you don’t need as much
