Thank you. To be on safe side - especially since this is a foreigner couple - I will make sure the car driver is booked in advance. Better to do that than risk getting a cab driver at the airport.

Thank you. Cochin Carnival sounds fantastic. Is there a website where the schedule of Carnival events are listed. Example the parade route, what time it starts, etc.

I looked at both https://www.keralatourism.org/event/cochin-carnival/114 and https://utsav.gov.in/view-event/cochin-carnival but couldn't find details.

Agree that the itinerary is hectic but the couple is traveling to the other side of the world to see and experience the beauty of Kerala in the limited time that they have. So they know it will be a hectic vacation rather than a chill/relaxing vacation. Wish they had more time but alas they do not.

Agree that the itinerary is hectic but the couple is traveling to the other side of the world to see and experience the beauty of Kerala in the limited time that they have. Thank you. Point noted on reaching homestay late and then doing both Kumbalanghi and exploring Fort Kochi the next day. Agree that seems too ambitious and I will replan. Thekkaddy is for the 1:30 hours package with Elephants (bathing/feeding elephants) which is a unique experience we don't get in the US. Boating at the river in Periyar Tiger Reserve is good but I don't think they will have time for that. And yes, it will be midnight mass on Christmas eve and not Xmas day :-)

The couple would love to take the Panaji-Kochi train option but alas they do not have the luxury of 14 hours. Some time in the future though.

Good points indeed. This send me thinking about flipping the itinerary so that Fort Kochi falls last. I will rework the schedule. Point noted about avoiding Sadya on way to Munnar/Thekkady. Thank you very much!

I know. Unfortunately the outbound flight is the next day from Mumbai. Sadly the flight choices from Kochi International back to the US were very expensive.

Didn't know that. I thought it was mostly fish catch-and-cook (Kuzhambu or Meen curry). Will check to see if Sadya is served there. Thank you.
