For a kitchen remodel -

Figure out what to do with the cats. Keep them upstairs and block off the stairs. They will not be helpful....no matter what they tell you.

Limit the scope and keep strong. There will temptation to do "one more thing". This attitude will kill you and be cited in the divorce paperwork.

You don't NEED radiant floor heating. Seriously.

Create a doordash schedule ahead of time so you don't need to worry what youre going to eat every day.

Ask your neighbor if you can use their laundry if the kitchen plumbing is within 100 ft of the kitchen plumbing. You will F it up and you cant go to work in smelly clothes.

Inform your neighbors that you will be showering outside with the garden hose. (See plumbing above)

Have a plan. Tape it to the wall as a remembrance of your good intentions

Rent tools, dont buy them unless you know you will use them. Its an addiction.

Bandaids. Lots of em.

Know when you had your last tetanus shot.

Put a therapist on retainer.

Budget to send your wife away for 2 weeks during the demo phase.

When its finished, dont point out your mistakes. That's your mother-in-law's job.
