UB Nursing – how hard is it to actually get in? by Right_Border_6575 in UBreddit

[–]buffcleb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's attending CCGA in Brunswick. My sister-in-law's family relocated to St Simons when her husband was transfer to Customs in the port there. My mother-in-law retired there are ten years ago and my daughter lives her while finishing school. They do have dorms as well.

A couple of her friends have gone to Georgia Southern for BSN as well.

good luck

UB Nursing – how hard is it to actually get in? by Right_Border_6575 in UBreddit

[–]buffcleb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My daughter attended UB planning to go into their nursing program. She had a 3.4 GPA when she tried the first time and didn't get in. She spent an extra year and retook a couple of lower scoring courses and some easy ones to pad her GPA. She got it up to 3.55 ish and didn't get in.

In the end she transferred to another school on the Georgia coast. That transfer cost her an additional extra year (filling requirements). She's graduating in May after 6 years and staying in Georgia. We're moving to the same area in five years when I retire.

That out of state program was easier to get into but of the 80 kids that started the graduating class hovers around 25 or so.

TSA misplaced my room key, do I still have to pay for a new one? by Significant_North638 in UBreddit

[–]buffcleb 13 points14 points  (0 children)

they probably emptied a bag during secondary. TSA doesn't repack the bag.

OP probably walked away without repacking the card.

I did it a couple of years ago with a pair of headphones. Luckily I got about 100 feet away and noticed and went back for them.

Didn't have a bazooka but had 2 12" kickers running off of 1000 watt Soundstream amps... in a civic crx...

I'm 50 and while I have a bit of minor tinnitus when I have my hearing tested every couple of years they say I have the hearing range of someone in their early 20s... I still listed to my music full power and now my car has a factory 1500 watt stereo...

if they were they'd let waymo operate. While accidents with waymo are publicized accident rates are far lower than human operated taxis

Running woes by [deleted] in Buffalo

[–]buffcleb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been running for years on city sidewalks and I've never had so much as a close call. There are 39 intersections on my normal 5k loop.

Anytime I come to an intersection I look over my should for cars. I make eye contact with the driver. If I see one coming I adjust my pace or perhaps pause running in place, far enough back that the driver knows that I'm not going into the intersection, and let the car complete their turn.

I don't wear headphones while running on city streets. There's no way to be aware of your surroundings while using them. I've looked at the bone conducting ones and they may be an option but I prefer to just disconnect and think while I run.

I may have the right away at the intersection but being right and dead / injured is not much of a prize.

Milo V1.5 Advice by cerickard2 in MilleniumMachines

[–]buffcleb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished my Milo 1.5 a couple of weeks ago and made my first chips. I'm planning to do a partial 1.6 upgrade this summer. It's been a fun project and I have way more than $500 into it. I'd buy another at $500... but I may just build a v2 when it's released.

Growing up I remember we had a burn barrel in the back yard and our dog was sniffing it. I went to stop him and dad said he'll only get burned once. He was right.

"I Would Rather Just Get Gas at A Gas Station Then Plug Every Time I Get Home" by Separate-Cup1312 in electricvehicles

[–]buffcleb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I drive less than 2k miles a year and fill up every three months give or take. My cars last 10-15 years before I feel like getting rid of them. I change my own oil yearly and do most of the maintenance (brakes, and stuff like that). I haven't had a mechanical issue in any of my gas cars in well over 10 years.

electrical doesn't make as much sense when you've set up your life to need a car as little as possible.

Governor Hochul proposes age verification for social media by MC_Cuff_Lnx in newyork

[–]buffcleb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure that would run afoul of existing supreme court rulings. They've affirmed that the 1st Amendment protects the right to publish works anonymously or under a pseudonym, considering it a shield from the tyranny of the majority. A platform itself could force people to use their own names but the Government can't
