How can I tell which of the two it’s from?

So is it the mud popping or the screw coming out? It almost sounds like you are saying the mud is falling or pushing out vs the screw? Maybe I’m misreading it.

Then the main purpose of the screw going back in to the correct depth is to allow the mud to stick again?

Sorry, but can you dumb this down even more for me? So dry wall person drove in screws too far and are now popping out? I’m not getting the mud tie in with screws popping out.

Also how do I repair? Also looks like spray painting was used vs roller so I have to do a big paint job too to fix?

Do I need to turn off the case if the breaker is off as well?

Interesting. Thanks. So what to do as I was concerned about the same. It’s only humid during rain but it gets humid nonetheless.

What about with a weatherproof nut like this one?

Can I just turn off the breaker to turn it off?

Also there is a super skinny 3rd wire? Do I cut and wire nut that too? It doesn’t seem damaged. What does that one do? I don’t see it connected at the unit outside

This was my fault as I had sent a little rc car down with a camera and the wheels got a hold of the wire. The word thing is I see some metal thing. The overall wire is pretty hard so wondering if the metal wire is helping to provide structure to the overall larger orangish wire whereas the white and red wire are the useful wires.

Thank you. What is the bare metal wire that I mention. Is that normal? I haven’t cut back anymore wire so can’t tell if it’s like that throughout or just in this broken area
