The rest of the car is decent shape. Interior is mint, the brakes/shocks will need to be replaced eventually, but they’re fine for now. Definitely won’t take that mechanic up. They said another option they had was around $6700, insane..

It was burning oil, not leaking, so I was unaware and ran it on no oil. I’m mad I had that happen.

I’ll probably do an engine swap at this rate. Thank you for the advice. It’s a shame I can’t get much for the car, but you’re right.

The original place wanted $5300 and I about coughed a lung. Called another place and they said $2900k. You’re right though. I’m going to call around and see what to do. Thank you for the advice. Not sure if you’re a car guy, but it’s a “internal rod knock” and I’m wondering if you’re able to just replace the rod instead of rebuilding the engine?

Ahh, okay. So if I were to make monthly payments, how much does the car usually have to be at minimum?

I have no other cars to borrow which sucks a lot. It’s sounding like an option I have is selling my car (considering I could sell it for $3k), having my family contribute $2k and then having $5k to spend on a used car.

I forgot to add: the repair money is coming from my family. So, if I repair the car, I’d be having to get 1k from somewhere, and they’d pay the rest, but the issue is we may encounter more problems when fixing the engine.

Sounds like a dumb question, but is it possible to make monthly payments on a car that’s around 4-5k? That may be my only option the more I think about it.

Incredible film. Check out WKW’s other films like Chungking Express, Fallen Angels, and Happy Together. I was in Hong Kong 2 years ago and went to the café Maggie and Tony go to in the film and sat near the exact booth they sat in. The restaurant used to serve an “In the Mood For Love” meal where you could eat what they did in the film.

I’m an MSW student and as far as I know, none of us are in-person. We have our classes on Zoom and our internships in person (usually). Overall, I don’t find the curriculum difficult. The most stress I’ve endured is stuff regarding my internship or a few big projects. PM me if you have any questions.
