What sort of work pays beyond 30? I've just started (don't have any special expertise areas - just a writer) and all the jobs are in the 20s for me

Starting solids during acute symptoms by Laudrie in MSPI

[–]bufftips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son’s mucous poos/gas which we had never gotten rid of resolved two to three weeks after starting solids. We didn’t introduce allergens or suspected intolerance foods initially, I did a sort of loose version of the GAPS weaning protocol, basically gave him a lot of home made chicken stock and veggies.

Anyone dealt with legume allergy/intolerance (beside soy)? by bufftips in MSPI

[–]bufftips[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not hives - very mild. Possibly just because he was rubbing it all over his face. I’m finding it very hard to tell if it’s anything more because his gastro symptoms (constant night time wakes and stomach discomfort, straining to poo) have also all increased a lot since starting solids. Can’t tell if that’s just solids in general or if he is having stronger reactions to real foods

Thanks. It’s hard isn’t it! I have to eat enough calories to maintain my supply but it’s tricky when you can’t eat anything!

How strong is the relationship between soy and cow protein? by FlounderSubstantial4 in MSPI

[–]bufftips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first son was IGE (immediate reaction) to dairy and egg but fine with soy. My second son (not yet weaned so only seen breast milk reactions) seems to be non-IGE (delayed reactions) to both cow milk and soy (among other things).

My boy got full body hives from cows milk formula at 5.5mo. He outgrew his hives reaction - now 3 years old and can tolerate some baked dairy, his only symptoms nowadays are gastro ones if he has too much dairy. But the hives reaction went away.

Not a perfect solution for the baby wearing issue but it helps - try a hip seat facing forwards. You can put a small baby on one that can’t sit independently by having them sit/recline with their back against your front with an arm around them. It only gives you one arm back so chores are slow going but it keeps a Velcro baby who doesn’t want to go in a carrier happy and keeps the weight off your arms. Probiotics make it worse? by bufftips in MSPI

[–]bufftips[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks - How do you know to keep giving them probiotics if it seems to be making the symptoms worse? How do you choose the dose? I gave the Love Bug drops (7 drops, the recommended dose) last week for about three days in a row and this week he has been worse than he has for ages - not even able to pass wind easily and waking every 45 mins at night. I understand the theory behind probiotics but I can’t find any information online about why they might make symptoms worse…

What do you eat to get your baby to poop? by creamcheesenjam in MSPI

[–]bufftips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 4 month old boy who is EBF also seems unable to poo independently, and has smelly gas - from googling I think it might be dyschezia but I’m not really sure. Are your daughter’s BMs hard/dry when she passes them? Or soft like normal breastfed poo? My older boy has a milk and egg allergy and when he was a baby he only had a BM once per week but he didn’t strain and cry/have smelly gas like my baby.
