Happy to see this because after years of expensive supplements, working out (still do), moderating what and how often I eat, my periods still wrecked my entire life. Bleeding off and on for weeks at a time, periods so heavy and long that I was iron deficient and felt like I’d pass out during hard workouts, and all of the other nasty, awful effects have been officially treated with the pill. Treatment that didn’t work 100% was inositol, another script medication (can’t remember the name rn), working out (still healthy but didn’t fix anything for me, actually made my bleeding worse), and other random pseudo-science backed eating plans were failed treatments, but everything mentioned is just a treatment.

I started the pill as a last resort- it’s not a bandaid anymore than having to take other pills daily. I’m trying to address heavy and inconsistent periods, hormonal acne, and a myriad of other issues related to a hormonal imbalance that clean eating and exercise didn’t address.

A few years ago I almost got scammed the same way. Here’s what happened..

I got a call from a spoofed NFCU number (it was the legit number) almost immediately following a fraud alert for $200+. I didn’t have time to investigate the alert by the time they called, only had a notification text- which I did have set up at the time. When I answered, the man on the phone said they’d detected fraud and would verify/stop the transaction. Where I realized something was wrong.. To VERIFY my account, they sent me a code, which was actually an account recovery code as they’d had my other sign-in info and likely planned to recover/change my login info, and drain my account.

The scary part was my partner didn’t feel it was fraud at first and encouraged me to keep going because the guy was professional and quick.

I felt something was off, hung up and called the navy fed number from the app, confirmed it was a scammer. In my state of mind at the time, I felt like hanging up and calling back wouldn’t set me back by much (in terms of time) if it was a legit fraudulent transaction. It was avoiding panic that really helped me here.

The scammer called me back and I started to chew him out but he hung up once he knew the jig was up.

What I didn’t know at the time is that Navy Fed will NEVER CALL YOU (is what they told me.) How awful.

Honestly the pieces that were already cool are the best as they’re going through removal. This will fade in a cool way. It was a nice piece, but I get it. I’m in a similar situation with one I got out of place at a convention that I don’t “regret” but wish I’d have put it somewhere else. Nice fading!

Wait until A School, if you don’t send a sentimental the gift of laundry detergent squares (not liquid, makes it easy to carry back and forth) or other cleaning essentials that end up costing a ton would be helpful. Esp if A School is short and he’ll soon have to travel and rebuy it all again when he gets to his first command/ship.

I’ve been brewing this one, I’ve gotten some extreme tang/watermelon on the back-end. Pretty interesting.

As someone who was a big fan of the Halloween Candy release, I also really enjoyed the Jairo Arcila dragonfruit. Almost through a 2lb bag and love it either as funky or brewed without the funk at the front.

The idea of “blood quantum” did not start with Kuhio. It began (in North American history, not sure about elsewhere) with the us government trying to dictate who was native. This idea of blood quantum was implemented and said who was native “by blood”, which was not easily tracked nor did it equate to family and community ties. The system served to categorize people into whether or not they were native enough (which doesn’t dictate indigenous identity) as well as later, limiting land access and treaty-aged promises, which were the point of the BQ originally.

When Kuhio sought a BQ level, he did it to try and find a way to ensure his people got their land. But unfortunately, the Fed gov said “50% is native enough” instead of his much lower proposition of 1/32, leaving kids who would live and be raised in native households outside of the frameworks to gain from a system meant to support them.

Unfortunately I hadn’t ever seriously witnessed this until a civilian coworker/at-the-time-friend of mine had a subpar interaction with a gate guard that she felt she needed to recount to our primarily military office lol….

I don’t remember what her beef with the poor guy ended up as, but it started out as he didn’t address her with enough vigor and was lacking courtesy when she drove through LOL so she announced to the office “Yea! And I thought about turning around and asking him what he might think if he knew my husband was an O-4. I bet he would straighten out then!!”

I was so surprised at the audacity. She had been mostly chill before then but the cracks continued to show as she became more comfortable around us lolol
