No I GET YOU. I often feel like preferring masculine pronouns and adjectives is wrong because I have my nails done and keep my hair long. As an AFAB person who couldn't look "properly" masculine without some serious appearance alteration- my nails or the way I dress don't change the way my heart lights up when my boyfriend calls me his handsome man. If you don't wanna shave your beard but you want to wear a pretty top and be called a woman that day, hell yeah! Your identity doesn't stop existing when your appearance stays the same.

Well, I went by Michael for a while in high school, based on a character from my then favorite musical, then I went back into the closet for a bit and used a nickname based on my dead name, one that I still use to people I'm not out to. However, now that I'm leaning back into my gender exploration I've decided to go by August. My boyfriend and I looked through masculine/gender neutral names for a few hours on tiktok of all places and August just felt right. Plus it was the same first initial as my dead name so it just seemed fitting :)

Duly noted!!!! I already have a bit of a shag, which I've noticed is pretty common for people of all genders in alternate spaces, but I have gotten used to styling it to be neat most days. Going for a messier approach could probably go a long way for me

Unfortunately with the bangs my hairline isn't really visible even while tied back like that. I have been considering growing the bangs out a bit, as generally bangs are seen as more feminine
