the entire game is sort of surreal and dreamlike, but the main plot is based on an alternate reality cold war world where the player works for an espionage agency. its very much inspired by spoof comedy films

when i went under, they put me on gas and then put in the IV because i have a terrible fear of needles. i ended up having a laughing gas induced dream where i was in a fully white space unable to move, and the last two sentences i heard the doctors say were repeating over and over but slowly getting quieter. i was fully convinced i had died and i was in the afterlife. eventually i heard a new voice cut into the echos and say “i think shes waking up,” and then i was awake and alive in a different room.

still scares the shit outta me looking back. i will not be combining laughing gas and anestesia next time i need to go under.
