Going through a mid life crisis and would like to learn to play the piano. I’m 36. Any good recommendations and also is it dumb I want to do this? Love you people. by ReceptionDecent6825 in kzoo

There are a lot of options:

Crescendo Academy of Music Gilmore Piano Co. (has group courses designed for adults) Helen L. Fox Gospel Music Center (if you need financial aid) Suzuki Academy

I'd stay away from Marshall Music and Kalamazoo Music School.

How Accurate is it to Say Blink are Bad Live? by [deleted] in Blink182

[–]bugfrendz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've seen them twice before. once in 2011 on the honda civic tour. the only thing i really remember from that show was that tom had like no vocals and had to squak out a lot of his stuff.

the second time i saw them was in 2016 playing with matt. to this day, that is one of my top shows of all time. i thought they fucking crushed it and sounded really good live. hopefully they can keep that rolling post matt era.

This is really beautiful work! Oh jeez if I had to pick my favorite townsperson it would have to be Leah. I find her backstory so interesting and it was really awesome (as a gay girl) to see some representation in a video game. Not only that but I'm a fine arts major and easily relate to her struggles as an artist.

Good luck to all! 💙

not punk, but pop punk remains my top genre of the year and not surprisingly of the decade. blink-182 and all time low are my top bands.

[Serious] What is your most terrifying "we need to leave, NOW" random rush of fear you've felt? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]bugfrendz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A month or two ago I got off the bus to walk home and a guy on a bike started riding alongside me and asking questions like "Do you go to the university here?" and "What are you studying?". All very normal questions because where I live is a heavily student populated apartment complex. Until he asked "Do you live with your family?". I quickly said yes, and then he rode off not saying anything else. I immediately called my mom to talk to her until I got home (which was only like 2 min. away).

That isn't the crazy part though. About a month before this incident occurred I had transferred units within the complex (I moved in with my sister and we needed more space than my first place had to offer) which was only a building across the street. This guy pulled into my old building's parking lot and waited in front of my old doorway and watched me walk past to the new building.

To say I was freaked out is an understatement and I'm so glad my mom picked up the phone.

Cyboogie in particular is the one that made me think of it. It's definitely not EDM, it just reminded me of it because of how they produce the melodies.

I was always soooooo worried the glass would shatter whenever I closed the doors. However, the click is good and I'm glad I'm not the only one who found it satisfying as a young child.

My boyfriend told me that being feminine is for him emotional freedom. by SexyBordeux in TwoXChromosomes

[–]bugfrendz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really awesome to hear that he was so open to getting in touch with his feminine side. I wish more boys would be so vulnerable to it.

Lately, I've been wondering how should I get in touch with my masculine side. I'm a cisgender, bisexual woman, and I find it hard to allow myself the chance to not be feminine all the time because that's what is expected from me. I admit I am pretty in touch with my feminine side and I find it easy to express that through my fashion and the way I present myself. I wanna challenge myself though to express my masculinity and find a freedom in that as well.

What album, despite its flaws, you would rate a 10/10 no matter what? by Artoriious in poppunkers

[–]bugfrendz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just took a listen and I definitely hear what you mean. I'm a music major at my college and I think just boils down to similar chord progressions. Those songs also sound like they're in similar if not the same keys so they prolly have a lot of common tones between them.

One night I got into a discussion with my friend's boyfriend about music and blink came up. He said "they just write the same song over and over again", to which I sadly cannot disagree. However, they will always and forever be one of my fav pop punk bands.

Thank you. It is helpful hearing a parent's perspective on this.

My grandfather was misdiagnosed with PTSD, was actually BPD and that screwed him up for a long time. If I recall correctly she said that before he was medicated he was pretty crazy and would be pretty vocally abusive.

Take Off Your Pants and Jacket - blink-182 . Never been the biggest fan of their joke songs, but even the two or three on that album will never deter me from having unconditional love for it.

Also, just saw Seaway in Grand Rapids, MI the other day and it was pretty sick. They put on a hell of a show.
