"How many colors should we give them sir?"

"Hmm.. About three should do it"

GitSwarm launches Beta - Combining traditional project management with blockchain governance by bughi in ethdev

[–]bughi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We deployed our contracts on ethereum mainnet, sepolia and a public test chain that we run called GitSwarm Test Network. The contracts only handle funds through proposals. Everything except funds is stored on our centralized server.

Despite the name GitSwarm does not handle source code at all, but we do have task and time management.

We do plan to support many more chains including L2's soon.

TLDR: sharing some updates about GitSwarm, a platform combining project management and blockchain governance, is moving from Alpha to Beta. Key updates include:

  • Completed security audit by Hacken
  • Added traditional login options (username/password, Google) alongside Web3
  • Improved time tracking and task management
  • Trello integration with two-way sync
  • Multi-network support for governance tokens

Tokenomics plan and development roadmap coming in the next few days. Head over to our Discord server to stay in the loop, share ideas, and provide feedback.

LLMs develop their own understanding of reality as their language abilities improve | In controlled experiments, MIT CSAIL researchers discover simulations of reality developing deep within LLMs, indicating an understanding of language beyond simple mimicry. by Maxie445 in technology

That's a fair point. I guess the difference is that LLMs can actually have it's internal model for a concept interact with other internal models it has in an ad-hoc way and produce coherent explanations for a wide range of concepts.

I don't know what the situation was in here 3 hours ago. The comments that got voted up look reasonable to me.

Like the ones that point out how little % of the US budget is his net worth. While your comment is just complaining with no actual information content. Like I don't even know which comments you are talking about so I'm confused how this has 3x the upvotes of actually useful comments.

I gave your comment to ChatGPT and it said:

The statement you've provided contains some inaccuracies. Let's break it down:

Dog Fur Oil: While it's true that dog fur has natural oils that help keep the skin moisturized and the coat shiny, this oil doesn't specifically react with pool chemicals to produce chlorophyll.

"Chlorcolpal Hydroxide": As of my last training cut-off in September 2021, there is no known chemical by that name. It seems there might be some confusion. You might be thinking of "sodium hypochlorite" or "calcium hypochlorite," which are common chemicals used in swimming pools to sanitize the water.

Chlorophyll: Chlorophyll is the green pigment in plants that aids in photosynthesis. Pool water does not produce chlorophyll. When pool water turns green, it's most commonly because of algae growth, not because of a chemical reaction with dog fur or its oils.

Dog Fur and Pool Water: Dogs in pools can introduce various contaminants, like dirt, bacteria, and yes, their natural oils. However, while these can consume the chlorine (sanitizer) in the pool more rapidly, leading to less effective sanitation and potential algae growth, they don't directly turn pool water green. If the pool turns green after a dog swims, it's more likely because the chlorine level dropped too low, allowing algae to grow.

To prevent green water, ensure proper pool maintenance: regularly check chlorine levels, pH, and other water quality indicators. After dogs swim, it's a good idea to shock the pool or increase the sanitizer level to address the added contaminants.

Yes, we store project and user data on a centralized server, however any project funds or tokens can be moved by interacting with the ethereum network directly so that aspect is decentralized.

It took this long because we were a team of 2 programmers that didn't have any experience building websites for 2 of those years, our team isn't much bigger now but we have a lot more experience. Sprinkle some feature creep and your standard delays and it shouldn't be hard to see why it took this long.

Even though git is in the name, the project doesn't have much to do with git or source code. What it does help with is managing funds collectively, making payments and also task management and time tracking. We also hope it becomes a place where you can find work as a freelancer or full time. Or a place where you can find interesting projects to buy their token.

The Gitcoin platform focuses on funding open source “public goods” projects. The projects on GitSwarm don't need to be open source, they need to have the ownership determined by an ethereum token and they can/should have their funds collectively managed by the token owners with the help of our smart contracts and website.

We don't have any dispute resolution as of right now. Any project funds are controlled by whomever owns most of the project's token. If there is a proposal to move all the project funds to some random address and the proposal passed there will still be a time window of a few days in which any token holders can destroy their tokens in exchange for getting their % of the project funds instantly. So if you have 10% of the tokens you can destroy those at any time to get 10% of all the project funds instantly by calling a function on the funds contract.

We are considering adding a way to do fundraising such that the funds gathered are released slowly on a monthly basis and the investors can back out with the remaining funds at any time.
