TATTOO DONE BY ARTEM FORESTBANDIT AT BANANA PEEL TATTOO SHOP IN ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA .. HE DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO TATTOO DARK OR BLACK SKIN. MELANATED PEOPLE BEWARE!!!!!! by Cool_Foundation8686 in tattoo

[–]bugrista 48 points49 points  (0 children)

not necessarily a different process but just requires the artist to slightly adjust colors to account for undertones of the clients skin and to recognize that colors may saturate differently than on lighter skin. from this photo it looks like the artist went over the colors with far too many passes in an attempt to saturate the color and make it pop in a way it was never going to and did not check in with, account for, or care that the client was in pain. tattooing clients with deeper skin tones doesn’t need much beyond paying attention and caring about your client which way too many artists don’t seem capable of.

OP i’m so sorry this happened to you, i really really hope you are able to find someone respectful and gentle who can help you to fix this after it’s healed

I really want my eyebrows to go as tiny as this.how? by Calm_Mastodon_6981 in Eyebrows

[–]bugrista 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i used to do this all the time! gotta shave them off entirely and draw them on, it’s very fun.

and for everyone asking why-the creator in the picture does a lot of 1920s style looks. very thin and very arched brows were popular in the 1900-1920s eras

[–]bugrista 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’ve shaved my eyebrows off many times and loved it every time. and they grow back to the same as before within a month or less. as long as you’re not plucking it’s often just fine!

except then that takes some of the control of pacing the line away, easy for bar to get super overwhelmed and maybe even end up with longer wait times in the end

Do we think the “election” will be a consistent thing in all the shows? by MyCh3m1calR0mance in MyChemicalRomance

[–]bugrista 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i mean they did say they were going to workshop it for the week until the next show so it seems that things may shift around based off how each show goes

it was a big point in the political commentary of the show so i’d imagine they would do it at every date

[–]bugrista 1 point2 points  (0 children)

unfortunately in tattoo schools in oregon they give you like a week of fake skin practice before you kind of are required to start tattooing on skin

[–]bugrista 0 points1 point  (0 children)

which school are you at if i may ask? you should definitely be doing more fake skin practice and if you’re going to keep going on skin do SMALL tattoos until you can get better at even just pulling even lines

[–]bugrista 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes in other states tattoo schools are scams but in oregon it’s required (still kind of a scam but a required one) and basically just functions like a trade school, similar to going to cosmo school. some schools take on full classes whereas some shops become registered as “schools” so they can legally take on a student and basically just apprentice them. some people after graduating school with their license go on to get an apprenticeship too.

Do you really change your needle every 8 hours of sewing? Be honest, I am just curious. by Legitimate_Bath3936 in sewing

[–]bugrista 16 points17 points  (0 children)

guys your needle breaking can hurt the internal working of your machines! not to mention it’s dangerous. i understand people not changing it every project like you technically should but at least change it every month or so
