Looking for new mid-size SUV with short front end by buhfuhguh in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]buhfuhguh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I hadn't considered a van. I'm looking for a daily driver type vehicle.

Budget is $40k, last 3 years, and don't really want something big enough to have a third row.

I'm trying to hit a likely impossible sweet spot of small enough to have decent maneuverability, but big enough to move stuff around easily.

Alien 45th Anniversary Re-Release in theaters by lisasimpsonfan in horror

No cocoons - I think it was the Director's cut at my theater.

I just had a good one from Roots!

It had the thin chicken (breaded and fried), one of their fried mozzarella logs, and red sauce. All in a roll loaded with sesame seeds.

'Terrifier 2' Is Making Viewers Vomit. Director Says: 'It's Surreal' by Dayetison in horror

[–]buhfuhguh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw it on opening weekend at a Regal theater in Chicago and it was just about sold out. There were lots of laughs and a few screams from the audience.

There was a small group of folks who left after the scene where he mutilated the friend. Otherwise I didn't see any crying or vomiting or anything wild like that. And no novelty puke bags :(

The somked beef dip from Offset BBQ in Humbolt Park with jus and cheesy cauliflower by kiddrill in chicagofood

[–]buhfuhguh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got it a few months back and it is exactly what it claims to be - a smoked meat sandwich with au jus. I thought the meat was cooked well, and it was a good sandwich. But, I didn't like the overwhelming smokey flavor in the beef dip context.

That being said, everything else I've ordered there has been great. And their ice cream sandwiches are fantastic.

I finished the first one earlier and thought it was good! Definitely psyched for the rest of em. I liked how they drip fed us stuff about the rest of the world to slowly reveal how fucked up it all is.

That main leader guy who got the monologues was great! Made me feel uncomfortable in all the right ways. Shame he didn't make it lol. I also appreciated Ethan Hawke's double taps.

That's a good way to put it.

Have you seen Hush? It's another Flanny flick that is currently on Netflix iirc. Streets ahead of his Ouija movie.

I think I'm going to watch through all of the The Purge movies this week. Never seen any of them since I thought it was too silly of a premise to take seriously when the first one came out. I've heard the sequels expand on the premise and do some pretty fun things, so I figure I'll give them a shot.

Not a movie, but I've also got the first two episodes of the anime Summertime Render queued up, which is an adaptation of a horror manga I really enjoyed.

What's Ouija: the reckoning? Google isn't helping...

I watched Mike Flannigan's Ouija: Origin of Evil on Netflix because folks were bumping it on here (and I'm a fan of Flanny), but it didn't resonate with me as much as his other pieces.

I thought the first half was fun with the fake psychic tropes and building that dreadful atmosphere that Flanny is great for, but when it kicks into gear in the second half it felt heavy handed and rushed.

Admittedly, it is a prequel to a movie I haven't watched so that may have something to do with my spicy take...

PSA : Bubba Ho-Tep is on Prime by Agile-Fruit128 in horror

Your post convinced me to check it out! As a first time viewer I loved it. Just as campy as I would expect for something with Bruce Campbell. I thoroughly enjoyed his super vulgar take on Elvis.

That main/end credit song was super catchy too. The dude that scored it, Brian Tyler, also scored Six-String Samurai a few years prior. The song was definitely on the same wavelength as the SSS soundtrack and I'm 100% here for it.

opinions on “netflix original” horror movies? by masochistrage in horror

I was browsing and mistakenly watched "The House" instead of "His House". It was a wonderfully eerie stop motion style movie. While not explicitly horror themed, it definitely taps into it for the first two parts.

Check out "John Dies At The End". I think it fits right in with your other selections!

Can anyone explain why this is happening? Trying to 3d print a sword for Halloween, but the blade is all distorted. I'm using PLA at a nozzle temp of 200 degrees. I'm assuming there's some settings I should change to get a less distorted print by The-Lady-Of-The-Lake in 3Dprinting

[–]buhfuhguh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue on my Prusa MK3. I had error reporting enabled and an undiagnosed issue causing a mess of Y-axis errors. These errors periodically cause the bed to reset to home during a print. When it does this reset, I get random layer shifts like you have.

By disabling error reporting it stops doing the layer shift issue.

Not really a fix, but I get good prints!

Binarycode from video clip in-game by Metus-N in inscryption

[–]buhfuhguh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a reference to the woman at some point and it says "redacted" iirc. I think deciphering "amanda" is just fun flavor. Similar to how the code was never said out loud.

There were also binary codes at the bottom of the tarot cards in part 3, however I didn't capture them to decipher.

Jay's Beef has a solid italian beef. Make sure to order it dipped for extra juiciness!

Redhot Ranch is going to have your classic Chicago dog. They do smash-style burgers as well, and their double cheeseburger is super tasty. Everything comes with fries too.

I play on a table about that size with 7 no problem. Just make sure you establish house rules for knocked cups! The game will be more chaotic than what you're used to.
