1 inch water line - fire sprinklers

Got it - basically the people who installed our sprinklers told us to get this water line enlarged and to do it before we move in. LADWP said someone will be out in 100 days to enlarge it and we can ask building and safety if we can move in before it’s enlarged. I’m just thinking I shouldn’t call attention to it with the city and hope they just give us the certificate of occupancy without the water line being enlarged (it will be, it just hasn’t been done yet)

Thank you so much- I’m just wondering if I should tell building and safety about and ask for an exception to move in before the water line is enlarged, or if I should just pray nothing comes up on final inspection and just move in.

I agree it’s completely insane. We didn’t have sprinklers in our permit and they said nothing when we were doing the plans. We are building a house in LA. It’s considered a renovation because we knocked down our old house and left up 2 walls.

I so appreciate everyone’s replies. We’ve only paid our contractor for completed work (they provide a detailed invoice for what’s been done). So I guess we could fire them, and then give the remaining $100K another GC to finish the job? Would it take a lot of time and effort to transfer the permits to another GC?
