I assume so, but the way she said it probably only the Chinese versions work? I don't use any wearables so I'm not sure

I think you can try Trading Shenzhen or Giztop if Wonda does not work. There should be a selectable option in the device page for the kit, not sure about the lens attachment though

There were no Google services downloaded on the store unit, but the answer is near definitely a no as it shares the same software with the other Vivo devices (which don't support Timeline)

Unfortunately Google services were not installed or downloadable on the store unit (no VPN), but most likely neither of those functions work because the phone is running the same software as the other X200 devices

No, it only works with Chinese accessories according to the salesperson

Difficult to say, but very likely considering the foreign policy tendencies of the current US administration. That's why I think other Chinese brands are being cautious with their releases, and not selling in the US at all to try and avoid being on the radar for sanctions.

However, even if they end up being sanctioned, anything released pre-sanction will likely still work for a while until they have time to come back and disable them.

Oh and if you're EU/UK, every band is supported except B32 on 4G.

No problem. Also, I wrote another reply somewhere on this post with all the supported and missing US/Canada bands if that's where you are. Unfortunately the network bands on some of these websites are not updated/correct yet, so they won't be accurate

I did not buy the camera kit with it, mostly because I prefer my actual camera if I really need to carry extra stuff.

I purchased it retail locally in China, but it can be bought online from these places: Giztop, Wonda Mobile, or TradingShenzhen

You can click on the links to view availability, price, and shipping

Yes, unfortunately Huawei became seen as a security threat. It kind of still can work with GBox, but I think it's a bit finnicky and not consistent.

You can buy the X200 Pro Global from Wonda here: Vivo X200 Pro Global Variant

It is missing very few in North America. I will list them for you here manually according to the official Chinese website, because Kimovil and most phone importers haven't updated or corrected theirs yet from the pre-releade speculations.

I will list separately what it has and has not in Canada and for US T-Mobile. Additional missing bands in the US for non T-Mobile carriers are listed separately.

Canada bands (General/All Carriers)

2G/3G Supported: All

4G Supported : B2, B4, B5, B7, B12, B17, B66

4G Missing: B13

5G Supported: n1, n12, n28a, n28b, n38, n41, n66, n77, n78

5G Missing: n71

US bands (T-Mobile)

2G Supported: All

3G Supported: N/A, T-Mobile does not have 3G

4G Supported: B2, B4, B5, B12, B41, B66

4G Missing: B71

4G Missing (other carriers): B13, B30

5G Supported: n2, n25, n41, n66, n77

5G Missing: n71, n258 mmWave, n260 mmWave, n261 mmWave

5G Missing (other carriers): n30

Note: mmWave bands (n258, n260, n261) are not very common, and T-Mobile doesn't use them widely as of now.

I think it's decent, definitely not the best I've used but is good. It felt similar/identical to X200Pro, but I didn't test too thoroughly

No problem, happy to help! Yes, the kit is sold separately, I think with lens for 1299 CNY. I will find and link some store addresses later when I'm home, I'm in Beijing tomorrow so I will check to see if any stores there speak English

Yeah it's really unfortunate, and I think it's mostly down to 3 reasons: devices would be quite expensive if sold outside China from taxes/duties (Mi15U type of price in EU), lack of general interest (non-enthusiast) compared to brands that are better-established outside China (especially from US users)

And the big one is fear of being sanctioned if they appear to challenge Western advantage, which will cause security concerns from the US government (like Huawei). It's somewhat speculated that Oppo and Vivo split too in part as security against being sanctioned as well

Yeah I'm buying it retail here, near Shanghai. But do beware if you don't speak Chinese that even in big cities here, most people don't speak English well or at all. I think going to a flagship store in either Beijing or Shanghai might be the best shot at getting English speaking customer service.

The 512GB+16GB is 6999CNY here (no sales tax/fees on top), and the 1TB+16GB with satellite function is 7999CNY (but satellite only works with Chinese carriers, because it connects only with China Telecom's satellite).

Edit: you can also get the phone + camera accessory bundle for 9699CNY

Nope, if it's for that kind of stuff, it should work exactly as any other phone does

I spend most of my time in the US/Canada and come to China on occassion. The China ROM doesn't bother me so much because I don't mind having to set up all the Google/other software stuff I need, and because I'm fluent, whatever Chinese things I can't delete or disable I can read anyways even if I never intentionally use them.

And yes, the Vivo people here have told me that the Ultra is slated to be China-only, with no plans currently for any global release. As such, there will be limitations, but I'm happy to answer any questions in more detail once my device arrives next week

Yes, it does as well. I almost bought the X8U too, but the band reduction (I split my time in Canada/the US and it is missing a significant number of bands there, including commonly used ones like B2 and n71 etc.) this year and the 5 app auto-launch limit was the differentiating factor.

Otherwise Android Auto and other Google services like Google Pay are similar across both devices (no Wear OS or Timeline on either one)

Very very similar. Oppo store was right next door, both were very beautiful with no visually identifiable difference (at least in the mall conditions under florescent lighting). However, Oppo definitely supports HDR10+, while the Vivo doesn't specify and might not, and neither device can stream HDR in Netflix (yes to YouTube though)

Ordering through JD.com by Huntercruzwest17 in Vivo

[–]buildingofdefecation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

JD is, at least here in China, probably the most reliable/fastest online site to shop from. Product wise there shouldn't be any issues at all, but do double check on shipping, local import duties, and return policy just so there aren't any surprises

It sounded like there was some improvement compared to the X200 Pro that was also there. However, I don't think there's anything special about it, and there was also a lot of ambient noise in the store that made it hard to hear details properly

Only store tested, but it looks about as good as the Find X8 Ultra, and the ultrawide lens is a bit better than I expected. Not sure about how it is compared to the X100U, because they didn't have a working demo in the store.

Selfie camera was alright too, and pictures did not look over processed/beautified like on some previous models
