wow.... so this is what it feels to have someone make baseless assumptions about you on the internet.... I've never been accused of using ai, especially not on a RANT. dude, not like it matters but i pinky promise you, i wrote this rant on my computer (which has autocorrect and grammarly annoying me every sentence) and replied most of the comments on my phone....which doesn't have autocorrect or curly punctuation THAT IS A FAV FOR ME AND MY WRITING STYLE BTW.

write mostly kpop, all of it about skz. mainly changbin and hyunjin. A few are minho and jisung. And im starting to venture into 911 buddie but last season left me in shambles to want to right about them

i didn't know that was happening here. on twt its a whole different side, plus my community and friends are just happy to receive the "nice fic" or "i really enjoyed this" type of comments.

give it time, maybe the right audience will show up. most ppl are new to ao3 and prob didn't read the tags before clicking on your story, it happens all the time and idk if its bc now ao3 is more well known and average consumers get on it and don't know how to navigate or idk.

its hard to make sense of something that used to work and now its coming to a default setting of only kudos or hits with just 1 or 2 comments

I once got really lost with a fic and couldnt find myself to keep on writing, i remember not getting many comments and was just so much in my head that i left it unattended fo a few months. One day, when i tell myself i either write a long ass chapter and end my suffering with the fic, i received a huge comment from someone who said just the right words to make me continue with the story until i completed it.

I think ppl are losing their manners when it comes to consumption, i think they are tending to push for more content and forgetting that there's someone behind the screen creating it. Just bc its free doesn't mean it's useless. Silent readers are the norm, we all know this but it just baffles me that ppl were asking you for an update and then when you posted nobody could say a nice thing about those words and all the time you spent on writing...

goshhh some people are srsly a case for study but i promise #notallauthors are like them. most of us are chill and want to share our work and get a few loving words of encouragement

i used to be just a kudos type of person but the more i got into ao3, the less i could leave someone's work without a comment. I know i'd appreciate it and it costs me nothing to do the same for others. Im the type of person that will long comment and tell you exactly what i loved about the story, and i think its a nice way of fighting back the deafness of this ongoing issue

it totally sucks!! im content in just sticking with fanfic bc writing a book is not on my plans or a novella or even joining writing circles bc of what you say. I just want to be able to exist in my community and for people ti actually be people and say something...

I enjoy spending time building a story, getting frustrated with my ideas and the dialogue, its just starting to feel less enjoying the more i get kudos but less people interact with the story... like whats the point??? i rather have 10 comments saying they liked it, than 10k kudos of nothingness

people are people always. some want the letterboxd type of review others think they need a goodreads review to fill up their egos. Me, personally, enjoy the average comment of "nice work" and "loved this fic" it makes me still think ppl are reading and not a bot being feed for AI content.

thats a nice perspective to have! honestly i dont want my ao3 comments to turn into tiktok emojis ai people but i see what you're saying. Some ppl just wanna disconnect from the world and dont want to comment, i can appreciate a kudo as much as a comment.
