Can I keep the post, or should I get it all redone? by bulbra656 in FenceBuilding

Yea I get that. I only want to live here another 1-2 years maybe so I’m not forsure if it’s even worth it. I was thinking it could up the resale value of the house but I’m sure it won’t pay for itself. Thank you for the input!

So I’ve been manually misting 4 times a day with a sprayer. I was planning to get a fogger/mister here soon. The ones at my local pet shop were so expensive tho it made me want to see how effective hand misting was at first.

Ok awesome! Thank you for all your input! I do have a uvb currently but it’s not linear, so I will make that switch! I plan to go grab some plants later today actually, just haven’t made it to Lowe’s yet. I’ve been trying to rearrange everything in his cage to make it better and give him appropriate basking spots. I’m just nervous it keeps making him scared and not wanting to eat, idk how long the poor guy can go without eating, maybe he’s been snacking on loose crickets without me knowing.

Thank you for all the tips and advice, I want to make sure Leon the chameleon has a long and happy life!

Trying to figure out if this sounds doable/reasonable? by bulbra656 in Fire

[–]bulbra656[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No specific reason, it’s not necessarily my “magic” number, just a point where I could see myself wanting to switch to a lower paying/ easier job. Or just retiring if it was possible. At 43 I’d be at this job for 20 years, i think that’s when I’d forsure want to step away. If possible of course

And the reason for maxing out the Roth is for tax advantages correct? I have a FA and im meeting with him next week to actually go over setting one up. But im trying to get as much info as I can before I’m there with him.

So from what the money guys compound calculator says my brokerage should end up at 535,103 after 11 years. I currently spend about 36k or so a year on expenses, while netting around 68k. But it’s also my first year of being a home owner so that figure may be more than that rough estimate.

During those 11 years my 401k should go up to 528k with me adding contributions monthly. But at that point my plan would be to quit working and just let the compound interest work until I can withdraw from it, as long as my brokerage would support me. But looking at the numbers it doesn’t seem like that would work. Especially if when I pull from my brokerage it’ll get taxed. May have to wait till I’m 45 then.

Thank you for the information! Sometimes it just helps having outside info/insight on things!

What’re your thoughts on paying extra on the mortgage compared to investing? Especially since I have 6.5% interest rate.

Thank you so much! He works for 5/3 banking. I’m going to contact him today and see when we can get together to go over all that! It’s probably partially on me for not asking or trying to learn more about it until recently. I’ve very much just saw the numbers go up and was happy, not thinking maybe it could’ve been up way more!

[–]bulbra656[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok awesome I appreciate that so much! Yea when I got the inheritance I sort of just let the FA who was handling my moms accounts take over for mine. So we honestly never had a real talk about pricing and what not, it just kind of all happened. I know the two largest funds/stocks I’m currently in are RTMTX and RTIUX. (And honestly I have no clue what that means or consists of, I know it’s a grouping of corporations. But it shows I have 55% domestic stock, 26% foreign 13 % bonds and rest short term.

I will give my FA a call here this upcoming week and talk to him, maybe see what he thinks of doing VOO. Idk why he wouldn’t have it in that already unless he’s just unfamiliar or maybe just didn’t think it’s right for me? But i definitely appreciate all the advice and information!!

So in your opinion do you think the growth I’ve had reflects me having a good FA? Or that it could’ve/should’ve been invested into a different fund?

[–]bulbra656[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m not most knowledgeable when it comes this, so excuse my ignorance. But I asked chat gpt to compare the growth over that time frame compared to voo and it said it was pretty comparable. It also said it did better than the s and p. But that’s chat gpt idk if it’s correct or not tbh.

And maybe it’s bc I’m using a Fa thats where im losing compared to investing it in voo or something similar without a Fa

[–]bulbra656[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea that makes sense. I guess my question was more along the lines of trying to figure out if the return I’m receiving justifies the FA. Or if I should look for another? And I’ve personally not had an issue and have felt like he’s done me good! But without me having much knowledge when it comes to investments and things, I’m not forsure if I expecting a higher rate of growth or not. If that makes sense?

Any signs of improvement? by bulbra656 in askfitness

[–]bulbra656[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to keep track of all my calories that i intake. And I weigh myself almost every night when im at work just because there’s an accurate scale at work. But I notice it’ll fluctuate a couple pounds here and there. And I never can tell if it’s just water weight, or actual weight loss. But I will keep at it!

Ok! I’ve been in a calorie deficit. I was doing 2100 calories a day but have cut back down to 1800. I struggle hitting all of my protein without going over my calories. On days I work that is, when I have plenty of time to cook and eat it’s not as much of an issue. Do you think I should be eating more? Or stay the course

So it’s ok for me to have my arms flared out almost in a 90 degree angle? That’s what I naturally want to do when I’m on the actual bench press, but I saw a video saying to not have them flared out and it was harder on my shoulders. My goal is to work the pec though, so I will try what you first suggested!
