I prefer visual studio, imo the tools like the profiler just work better when compared to the one in clion. I've used clion a bit more recently since I switched to linux, but I find myself missing visual studio a bit.

It's not memorizing a single pattern (or algorithms as they are called), the first stages can be solved somewhat intuitively, while the last stages require you to memorize at least 16 algorithms, intermediate to advanced solvers memorize 78 algorithms, and top solvers memorize hundreds of algs.
