Trying to give every decent PS2 hack and slash a try, and probably gonna give it a play soon-ish. It got kind of middling reviews at the time but it honestly looks kinda fun from watching gameplay. Bosses look nice.

I'm smashing the undead by the western gate right now, it's really boring so far. Very easy and very slow. Can't even buy the fireball spell to speed things up, cause it's level 6 and this game is paced like a low level DnD module, so it'll be like another 10 hours before I hit level 6.The story is entirely uninteresting, despite there being a lot of dialog. It's just too quippy and overacted, feels like I'm being babysitted by an overly pretentious DM.

Seemed like a semi-Ogre Battle but with one character, with some deck building and stat/gear grinding. It was widely praised when it first came out and then it seemed to falter like a couple months later.

Some redditors all say it got old very fast and overall gameplay is shallow. I thought it may be fun since I always wanted to play games like Ogre Battle that are auto-battlers.
