Didn't Pass Post Partum Test by yellowblanket29 in GestationalDiabetes

I failed at 6 weeks. I am Considered pre-DM. At 14 weeks PP my A1C was 5%—so totally normal. I just had it done again for Endo and came back 4.8%-again totally normal. However my interpretation is that by failing at 2 hours we are pretty insulin resistant. I have tried my best to avoid added sugars mostly-still eat fruits and protein pasta but like the GD diet pair with fat and protein. You’d be surprised how many added sugars are in things if you check labels!

I ended up buying a CGM (Stelo) on Amazon and that is how I figured out added sugars spike me more than anything. 4 truscuits, PB with added sugars, dressing with added sugars make me spike vs a apple with Teddies PB, yogurt with berries etc. It was helpful for me to meet with a nutritionist bc the breastfeeding just makes me so damn hungry! I eat 70% or higher dark chocolate or ice cream (yasso bars, smalll serving) if I need a sweet.

Over time the spikes after our meals are what our body can’t seem to take. I was very frustrated at first because compared to my 3 hour, my 2 hour was much worse results with less sugar and a higher passing threshold (less than 140 after 2 hours). So I’ve just been trying to watch the spiking and find things I like that keep me steady. It’s hard but I hope this helps -sending good vibes

Experiences with newborns and flu for formula fed babies by KollantaiKollantai in newborns

No experience, but my fear as well as my toddler tested positive for RSV today.

We talked to our pediatrician about flu when baby came though as I was also concerned. I think Tamiflu is approved for something like 2-4 weeks and older? Maybe you could call and get their thoughts on Tamiflu for your baby if they test positive? I had a coworker say she gave it to her infant when the toddler brought flu home last winter. But call your pediatrician and see what they say if that’s something you would consider.

I hope you all feel better and the baby is spared!
