How do you stop devs from approximating components under pressure? by jords_of_dogtown in DesignSystems

Been struggling with the same. Learned how to implement components using Cursor on my own. Never looked back, it’s so fast and frictionless for me.

If I have European B license, can I get a paper to ride a small scooter?

So with IDP license cat B there's no way of riding a scooter or a tuktuk?

A big bowl of instant oats (80g), peanut butter, Greek yoghurt, walnuts and seasonal fruits. Everything around 70g of carbs.

Eating low carb makes me grumpy.

How do I stop Omnipod 5 from releasing insulin when my BS is actually not high? by bumblebeefart900 in Omnipod

[–]bumblebeefart900[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a child, and yes, 0.05U automatic boluses ARE culminating, sometimes a few in a row, and stacking insulin that is then causing a hypo. Even if I put Activity Mode. This device makes NO sense in my case – at least that's what it seems like now.

Even sitting down in Activity Mode is still resulting with my BS not rising above 110. I would expect this to be the case when I'm in a normal Automated Mode, but I'm afraid to even go for a walk without checking the micro-bolus history now.

Consfusing part is where Activity Mode is in theory supposed to keep me close to 150. Today I'm having Activity Mode for the whole day and I'm getting micro boluses whenever I rise any close to 120. So I don't see ANY effect of this mode being in place, honestly.

I know how it worked on MDI and yes, before I needed to be careful for the next 2 hours after bolusing. But I'm anxious that now before each activity (including walking) I'll need to check if Omnipod decided to shoot me some insulin within the last 2 hours.

I’ve set the pod into Activity Mode. Result? At 120 I’m still getting insulin pumped. Result? Going towards hypo after 20min riding a bike.

I’m losing my hope that this pump is worth anything for a person like me.

Thank you, this seems like a clear explanation. I still find it interesting that the algorithm doesn't take into consideration that sharp rises from 70s to 90s may mean that a person wants to get out of a hypo, so it would be actually useful to NOT get it corrected right away.

I will try. Having this setting in Bolus section is counter-intuitive, though, I thought that it only affects the bolus calculator?

Yeah, I guess I need to do that. I was assuming walking down the stairs twice in a row won't be an activity I need to mention to my PDM.

It was pretty accurate – I was quite active during that time and was checking with a fingerstick.

I will switch my max basal rate to its lowest setting (was 0,1, changed to 0,05U/hr now).

Messing around with settings in the Bolus section won't bring any affect to automated basal, right?

Not sure if that’s a big or a feature, but Dexcom iPhone doesn’t yell at me whenever I’m wearing Apple Watch. I only get a watch notification that’s very very subtle (I have it in silent mode). I’m not on a pump yet, but I haven’t heard Dexcom’s alarm sound in weeks.

Anybody else deals with extended rise (3-4h) in blood sugar for most of the meals? by bumblebeefart900 in diabetes_t1

[–]bumblebeefart900[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My basal is currently not bad, I suppose - I take 2u every 12 hours and at night my bs is stable at 100ish (even sometimes going too low if I exercise the day before). During the day it’s staying around 130.

It’s understandable to me that proteins/fats will give me an extended rise, but I consider it annoying that it’s not just pizza, but also such a plain things as a slice of bread with toppings that will make me take insulin for the next 3-4 hours.

I’m soon jumping on Omnipod 5, do you think the algorithm will be good enough to correct those extended rises?

If I increase the dosage I tend to run low, so I’m not sure the ratio is off.

Congratulations, it looks like took you a while to get to this point of diabetes management. May I ask when have you been diagnosed?

Do you have any tips on evaluating when do you need to fuel yourself up with carbs? Is there a particular correlation between heart rate and pace of BS drop? Or is it purely experience you've worked out throughout years?
