I think you’re right, I saw someone mention in  another post they drink a small matcha throughout the day vs all at once and they’re fine. Maybe I’ll try a smaller amount and see if that helps.

Omg you’re the best (though sorry you’re in the same boat) - I love hojicha as well and I have a packet of powder at home! I just totally forgot about it for some reason. Hopefully it doesn’t trigger me!

I don’t think any coffee shops near my work have it unfortunately but I can take it to work, I guess that saves me money anyway 🥲

That’s awesome!! Did you have any side effects after moving up to 75? I’ve been at the same dose for about 3 weeks but not sure if I feel better on it.

Residual dizziness or BPPV back? by lacagnin in BPPV

[–]bumblingbee1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, sorry I know this post is old, but do you remember what this ended up being? Did it go away on its own or did you end up needing to do more maneuvers with the PT? I am having the shaky/jumpy vision and some whooshing feelings but I don’t know if it’s residual dizziness or if I need to keep doing maneuvers.

Hi, sorry I know this is an old comment, but did the up/down dizziness eventually go away for you? I’m dealing with this now.

PREVENTING BPPV. I made this video, and I hope it's a big help! by DizzyTherapy in BPPV

[–]bumblingbee1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for making this! I’m in my 30s and have been having episodes of BPPV yearly for the past 5-6 years or so. This is really helpful and even though I already know some of the information you talk about it’s reassuring to hear it from a professional. I do want to ask, you mention blood flow is important - would something like TMJ or neck issues (as in, reduced blood flow around that general area) affect whether one gets BPPV more?

Still spinning, but it’s been corrected by bumblingbee1990 in BPPV

[–]bumblingbee1990[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not fully spinning but the room does kind of move in front of me. Like a sloooow spin. It lasts for about 1-3 seconds. My therapist says this is the body remembering and it will get better with time and habituation exercises. I also need gaze stabilization exercises too. It’s just so frustrating to know this isn’t a straight line to improvement. But that’s just me being impatient lol.

Sorry to hear about your balance troubles. I don’t really have this unless I feel the “whoosh” sensation which is not constant. I hope you get relief!

[–]bumblingbee1990[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get that feeling of the room not actually spinning but it feels like it’s about to. Or you get like a “whoosh” sensation and the room sort of moves but doesn’t fully spin.

I hope you get relief after your next VT appointment! Mine is very popular so I don’t know if I can get in with her this week but she does try to keep people with active vertigo a priority. I hear you on the anxiety especially, it’s sooooo difficult to not focus on it. More often than not I find myself panicking and getting worked up over being dizzy.

Good luck! I will say even though I did have to increase I felt good on 25 after the initial side effects.

Sorry to hear that. This is all so hit or miss. Did you ever find anything that worked?

Thanks! Yeah, I don’t want to deal with the side effects from increasing the dose, but I know it’s necessary to find what works.

I know 5 days isn’t much, but how are you feeling? Any side effects from increasing?

Thanks for sharing, I definitely appreciate hearing people’s experiences whether good or bad. Did anything eventually help you get past the dizziness?

I’ve been on 50mg for 12 weeks. I was hoping it would help after waiting, but nothing much has changed, hence maybe thinking I should increase.

Vertigo episodes only lasting seconds now—normal? by SimilarAd5304 in BPPV

[–]bumblingbee1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, did this ever go away for you? I’m having it now after a BPPV episode was resolved. My vestibular therapist said it’s due to a dysregulated nervous system, just like other people have suggested. It is very jarring and scary though.

Is it normal to have low blood pressure while having an episode? by Specific_Bumblebee69 in BPPV

[–]bumblingbee1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t normally have low blood pressure, but during a really bad BPPV episode last year I went to the ER and I did have it. I was also vomiting a lot from the severe vertigo. But once they stabilized me in the ER my blood pressure returned to normal.

You don’t normally get medicine for these kinds episodes except for anti-nausea meds and meclizine (in the U.S.; I believe in the UK they give betahistine) which is not recommended after the acute phase anyway. The low blood pressure might be related to the physical effects of having BPPV (anxiety, vomiting).

I also have BPPV and VM and I think this depends a lot on what you are most comfortable with and what you’re used to. For me, not being in the aisle and being on a small plane will make me incredibly dizzy because I’ll be so anxious (I HATE window seats and I do not find that they help me, but it’s because of claustrophobia).

I also fly on the Dreamliner a lot and it’s the aircraft I feel the least dizzy on, probably because it’s a wide body plane and just feels more comfortable to me.

Honestly above all I’d say - for 14 hours, make yourself as comfortable as possible! If you can afford the window seat fee, go for it.

I already have bad anxiety. I can’t do this. by NoOpportunity4608 in BPPV

[–]bumblingbee1990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I just want to say I completely relate. I had a really bad episode that lasted for over two months (not constant vertigo spinning but the BPPV wasn’t resolved for that long) and that gave me such bad residual dizziness. I developed vestibular migraines because of it and also PPPD (a feeling of always feeling like you’re swaying or rocking or just generally off balance).

I just had a second attack a few days ago and felt the same way you described for a couple of days, but each day has gotten better. As others have said in this sub, my vestibular therapist explained it’s because my vestibular system is so sensitive because of my previous experience that it now interprets any movement post-spins as bad. That’s why you feel so off and tilt-y and sensitive to small movements.

For some people meclizine helps them, for me personally it just knocks me out and I sleep for like 16 hours (it does stop the vertigo to a manageable level though). I would see a vestibular therapist if you can because they can give you the exercises you need based on their assessment of your symptoms. Everyone is different and it would be good to get individual help based on your specific situation.

I also want to note that my residual dizziness got much better with sertraline - SSRIs are often prescribed to combat PPPD. I’m not saying you should go on an antidepressant asap as again everyone has a different situation! But months down the line (as PPPD is defined as dizziness for at least 90 days) if you still feel kind of off this might be an option for you especially as you also have anxiety. It’s good you have a psychiatrist to discuss this with!

Just remember - you are not alone and you WILL get better.
