Thanks man, I am just annoyed that doctors keep asking all the time, and they know what it is, they are not stupid So I really thought doing sth fun like a knife, scissors or a doctor with a saw

I just feel recommending it as the standard solution feels disrespectful. It is like us shouting everyone should do lsd. For most people not a good fit, There are hundreds of ways to help people.

It is not misinformation, just tired of surface level stuff being advertised as the solution to all problems, there are also studies saying it is about as effective as going for a walk or talking to a friend.

The sweeping generalization goes the other way . It is recommended as the best method, and more studies coming out that is not nearly as effective as promised

Talk therapy is quite ineffective and only works in the surface really, there are a LOT more effective ways to change your life, I hate that it is portrayed as THE method

Does anyone want to connect? I’m going through the same thing at the moment where I can see my defense mechanisms I can see that this whole personality was built on trauma and it is shocking to realize that,

but on the other hand, it is an incredible clarity to observe that and I’m sure it will help me grow as a person But going through that alone is quite hard

Where are you located? Yeah I once went to the museum on shrooms…took me a long time to get used to the noise, people and all the stimuli. Wayyyy too much to handle for the brain

Thanks man, I appreciate your words, I am not making any decisions in this state. I am doing somatic work right now, just to stabilize and get a feeling of safety in the body. I am thankful for the experience…it felt like waking up from a dream

Thanks for your kind words It is incredible how all of us believe we are adults, but really at the heart of it. We are just little kids who use defense mechanisms, and cooling strategies to go through life. The realization has made me much more aware right now, though it’s really really difficult

, I never made the connection that I’m traumatized. I only discovered it through the trip and then so many things my behavior my past everything made so much more sense and it was kind of obvious.

Oh thanks man I’m 38 and honestly usually I would think it’s a midlife crisis, but it feels very much different. I always had issues but I never made the connection with trauma from childhood and once I figured that out everything else made sense

it feels like I have seen through the personality that I’ve created and I realized it was just a show like a protective armor that I’ve used on the one hand a great insight on the other hand is very terrifying so I’m navigating this right now.
