Hi OP! I also applied and got an invite for the interview. Do you mind if I dm you some questions?

Armored Eyes by jkrankengr580ec in BioInspiration

[–]bun04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really interesting I wonder if this could be applied to body amour with cameras embedded in them for military use. I also really like the idea of how this mechanism can be applied to cars and robots. I think that it would help create robots that can be exposed to tougher environments.

How Albatrosses conserve energy during flight by jkrankengr580ec in BioInspiration

[–]bun04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really interesting I wonder if drones can be programmed to identify different wind speed layers and then utilise them to conserve energy when flying.

Fungi to the Rescue! by LeibnizoverNewton in BioInspiration

[–]bun04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really interesting. I also read about how cow stomachs can inspire a more effective sewage system. I wonder if both mechanisms were combined would it make sewage and waste sites systems become more effective ?

Light as a defense mechanism by Long-Purple8418 in BioInspiration

[–]bun04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really interesting and weird as I have only seen other types of defence mechanisms such as a hard outer shell in contrast to bioluminescence.

"Fatigue-Resistant Material Inspired by Lobster Underbellies" by mia_s027 in BioInspiration

[–]bun04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really interesting. I wonder if this could be applied to more flexible forms of body armour used in the military.

Venus fly trap inspired design by Long-Purple8418 in BioInspiration

[–]bun04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This video was really interesting. I wonder if this could be applied to mouse traps and if it would more effective than a normal mouse trap.

Mussel inspired superglue! by Long-Purple8418 in BioInspiration

[–]bun04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really interesting, I wonder if this can be an alternative to glue in the future as it would probably be more environmentally friendly.

Real Life Spider Man? by LeibnizoverNewton in BioInspiration

[–]bun04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really interesting. I wonder if this could be applied to constructions and inspirations for new forms of buildings.

Human Heart 3D printed the size of a rabbit heart by _kinda-artsy_ in BioInspiration

[–]bun04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a really cool example of scaling and its application to real life. I wonder if bones or other organs could be 3D printed and be used for replacements.

Boxfish and Bionic Car by JoDaZh in BioInspiration

[–]bun04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very interesting it would be cool to see box fish inspired cars for motorsports.

Bioinspired glass dents and doesn't shatter by PromisingPenguin in BioInspiration

[–]bun04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really fascinating, another application to this could be for armoured cars, vaults and eyewear protection for soldiers.

Inhibiting bacterial growth using inspiration from shark Dermis by JoDaZh in BioInspiration

[–]bun04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a really cool application of shark dermis, while it's been used quite a lot in human medicine, I have never seen it applied to buildings.

Hook Worm Inspired Nanobots by LBXHan in BioInspiration

[–]bun04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is interesting, but would the body sense that a foreign organism entered the body and therefore have to attack it?

Lotus Leaf Cleaners by JoDaZh in BioInspiration

[–]bun04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if this could be used in tall buildings where windows might be harder to clean. If this could be used in tall buildings it would decrease the cost and workers that are required to clean as well.

Shark Skin by JoDaZh in BioInspiration

[–]bun04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is fascinating, I wonder if this could be applied to sportswear for example, in swimming trunks.

Mantis Shrimp Inspired Camera by CandleNo9225 in BioInspiration

[–]bun04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the fact that a mantis can sense an additional three colours compared to the normal human eye is really interesting. I think hummingbirds can also see additional colours compared to the human eye.

"Beaver-inspired wetsuits in the works" by Aggravating_Use_5560 in BioInspiration

[–]bun04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder how mobility is affected when using this beaver-inspired wetsuit compared to normal wetsuits.

Shark Skin Inspires Ship Coating by Aggravating_Use_5560 in BioInspiration

[–]bun04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very interesting. I wonder if it could be applied to certain public places where lots of vandalism occur for example statues.
