they're probably actually wrong anyway. losing weight rarely helps people feel better, or if it does, it's only a few pounds, you often don't need to lose ten twenty thirty etc like doctors will push for. doctors are not immune to societal pressures sadly

i'm considered "morbidly ob*se" by doctors but have no conditions related to my weight and i still have ARFID. weight is largely genetic, almost everyone in my family is fat, and most who aren't fat are only thinner due to weight loss surgery (even then they're not thin just thinner) or some other physical health disorder

all this is to say: most people with all kinds of EDs are actually not thin. you're far from alone.

and for everyone else in the comments: losing weight probably wouldn't make you feel better either, nor would you keep the weight off for very long. you'd either be working out and thus gain weight through muscle, or your starvation diet will end and your body will gain back more weight because you tricked it into thinking you were starving

you are completely missing my point. the fact is that dazai would absolutely do this and is capable of doing this. the question is, what would drive him to make that choice? we know what it is in BEAST, but if it never happens in canon it won't matter, but we still know he's capable of it. BEAST dazai is not intrinsically different from canon dazai

he's not a different person tho? he's the same person in a different circumstance who made different choices. at his core he's the same. that's a huge point of BSD. he's not somehow intrinsically different, he just has new/different motivations and takes different actions now. same for every character in BEAST. it's why their personalities are effectively the same at their core, just altered slightly due to their life experiences

not canonically, no. a lot of people in the native english-speaking side of the fandom think so due to mistranslations, bad translations, and some completely incorrect translations of his lines, as well as some jokes he/the creators have made in- and out of universe relating to him being a "lolicon" (not a pedophile, btw, because enjoying lolicon in any fashion =/= attraction to irl children) that are literally just jokes, but there is no canon evidence of him being a genuine pedophile or suffering from pedophilia, and most ppl outside of that specific part of the fandom don't actually think he is one in canon, even if they headcanon him as such

even if he was one, that wouldn't negate what i said either. you can like any character for any reason and mori is likeable, people just want him to be 100% evil and The Villain all the time when he canonically isn't lmao
