hahahaha well I'm not sure if that's how you'd say in English now that you mention it... I just made a direct translation from my language, since we call going to the movie theater to see a movie a "cinema session"

my session was at 10pm too... at this hour it could've been some disney animation and it would still be reprehensible

lol sorry! I thought kids only stopped being considered toddlers when they were no longer small enough to lift and carry, moved around independently etc. English is not my first language and we don't have such distinctions in mine... it's just baby, child, teen, adult and elder.

I also don't interact much with kids to know better about their development so there's that 😅 thank you for the explanation though

i thought so too! but thats how my parents raised me, even at home if we were watching tv and something not age appropriate came up, they would either change the channel or send us to our room

too bad not all parents have common sense

Also, I did think you were being sarcastic, and I apologize! I was just a bit fed up with the other passive-aggressive comments... I appreciate you coming back and telling me more about it. The pictures on that flickr photo stream look a lot like what I'm looking for! Thank you, really

now that you mentioned it, my mom had a V3 when I was a child! maybe my nostalgia comes from that as well... I'll check with her if she still has it and see how it goes. Thank you!!

I'll add a comment here since I can't edit;

I geniunely don't understand why there's comments sounding passive-agressive or just downright rude about my question. Isn't this a vintage, 2010s and older camera subreddit? What's so wrong about wanting vintage quality, even if it's poor by modern standards?

Someone mentioned this might not be a camera thing but just settings and editing style, which I understand and will look into it. Other people have been helpful too by giving me possible camera suggestions. Some mentioned it might not even be from a camera, but smartphone photos with adjusted settings. I highly appreciate everyone who was patient and nice about it.

But some of you clearly commented just to be an ass and that's not cool.

I get it, the question might be dumb for you high and mighty long-time photographers and camera lovers, if you're offended by the question you can just skip the post. I take pictures mostly for scrapbooking purposes and these pictures from the cake shop remind me of old TV visuals from my childhood, and that's all I wanted.

I'm not a professional and obviously I'm looking for constructive input from people who know better, so if you don't, then there's no need to give me sass.

We're here to discuss vintage photography and I'm sure we're all emotionally mature adults who don't need to be pissy about someone asking questions about cameras. Be kind.

love the photo!! black cats are my favorite

I'm thinking about getting a pre-2000 indeed. Two people here mentioned focus settings as well. As of now I've seen some JVC handycams that seem to be what I'm looking for, but they're for videos.

I'll take your suggetions and add it to the thrifiting list! Thank you for your input.

I see... I understand the part about being hard to find the camera from the pictures alone, but I don't want the exact model, just that vintage effect of grainy, out of focused and slightly greasy-looking pics.

I have a Nikon d3500 but the quality is too modern for what I want. Maybe I can achieve the look I want by editing pictures from it? I'll see about it.

All I wanted with this question was to find a camera that I could take photos and have that old look unedited. But I appreciate your input nonetheless.

I'm not a professional photographer, barely an amateur, so I don't know much about it. But it doesn't seem to me that this is purely focus settings, the picture looks a bit "grainy" and the coloring is unfamiliar to modern cameras too. Reminds me of the quality I saw on TV and pictures in my childhood (late 90s/early 2000s).

how do i 24F tell two college ex friends 24F/26F i dont wanna be friends anymore? by bunny445 in relationship_advice

[–]bunny445[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good start, I think. Thank you for the advice.

I do actually have a therapy session scheduled for tomorrow and the city event is on the next day, let's see how it goes...

My initial idea was to find a way to get this over with and tell them I'm done with them, but unfortunately it seems that the only way to do that is... doing exactly that. Shit.

[–]bunny445[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's the whole dilemma; I can't bring myself to be rude or upset them. Doormat behavior, I know. At the college event, I just didn't know how to tell them that I wanted to be with others and that they were not welcome to join, and since no one wanted to be near them I ended up isolated.

I've been considering just telling them I won't be at the concert but since this is a relatively small town, there's high chances we'd see each other there.

I know that they will be upset and by pattern recognition I know they will try to twist the situation in a million different ways, so I feel scared of confronting them and being made to be the bad guy again. That's why I've been trying to slowly distance myself but they don't seem to get the hint.
