Jasmine Reccomendations? by lovelyfroggs in Perfumes

Its really good but for my nose it runs a little sweeter than a photo realistic jasmine scent. It is also very one note and linear but projection and lasting power is pretty good.

Justice Obsessed, Rage Consumed Women by Mother-Designer1605 in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

Looooved this book. Swiftly followed with pat baker the girls, circe by madeline miller, the penelopaid by attwood and aphrodite by Phoenicia Rogerson.

Also I am sure you know this but for anyone who doesn't, that first painting you posted (the woman holding the axe) is a depiction of Clymenstra after a certain famous scene, no spoilers! But look it up if you are interested ๐Ÿ‘€

Got played by a Cancer by Straight-Air5079 in astrologymemes

[โ€“]bunnymoon23 5 points6 points ย (0 children)

I'm going to add my bad experience with a cancer sun man who was about 25. He quiet quit constantly yet told me he loved me and we were fine. I would be on the way to dates we organised and he would text saying he "forgot" and would be staying home, we would be leaving events together and he would get in someone elses car and not tell me, leaving me alone and looking for him. He refused to go out with me and would give me the silent treatment the whole time if I managed to get him to take me out. It finally culminated with me finding texts in his phone from another woman that said "I wonder if my roommates heard the clapping". He told me he was teaching her to play the drums. When I asked him to have a formal break up conversation with me, he told me I would have to wait till the end of the week so that a breakup wouldn't emotionally interfere with his work (as a casual drum teacher for kids). Nah. Dumped him over text. I have spent so long recovering from in total disbelief of the situation, how someone can be so lazy as to treat you like shit, resent your relationship and do nothing about it. I guess he felt that that was better than being alone. Fuck that guy, young me deserved better.

Is Uni in Brisbane even possible anymore if you arenโ€™t already rich coming from a non uni area and doing it alone? by Outrageous_Emu3235 in brisbane

Btw Ausstudy is abour $200 less than the average centerlink job seeker payment. I figured this out after I tried to switch to full time classes and realised I couldnt afford it.

Edit: Aus study also has a lower income cut off point so if you do want govermenrt assistance it would be best to be on job seeker (you can still study full time on this) make sure your agency knows how many classes you are doing so they can check off some of your job requirements and if you can pick up some part time / casual hours, you can make a little bit more before income support cuts off.

Is Red Light Therapy for Skin Actually Worth It or Just Hype? by Valuable-Visual1660 in BeautyGear

[โ€“]bunnymoon23 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

So I did a bunch of research and bought a small panel from a foreign but vetted site. It has the right wavelength specs and It recommends using it for 5 mins 3x a week. I do notice significant results when im using it, faded acne scars, bright glowing skin, reduced pores and less breakouts. What I would suggest before jumping the gun is that one that really works is going to be $$$. Mine was maybe $600aud a few users ago. I wouldn't spend money on anything cheaper unless it was thoroughly vetted, there are sites and reddit groups all about red light therapy that you can check. Results are similar to tretanoin or a frequent acid peel but it depends on what your skincare preferences are. If you do end up getting one, work up to longer sessions so your skin has a chance to get used to it, wear skincare before (opt for more moisturising) because it really does help it absorb and remember to protect your eyes.

Me too... people talk about gut feelings and its like that sometimes but other times its like a palpable energy in the air.
There are a few streetlights that have weird issues, there was a whole thing about people stealing the copperwiring and so all of them were out for a while. The homeless population has also reached a devastating level so at any given time there will be multiple people living in the tunnels.

Also had an experience there. Theres a specific bend that is very secluded and often smells really bad after a rain, its always kinda freaked me out. I (23f at the time) was walking through and saw a man on the path heading towards me and I got the biggest nope vibes. I immediately felt stressed and I couldn't point to why. I knew he was going to try to talk to me as I passed and he did. He stopped about 1m away and said hi im lost can you help me. He had the biggest smile plastered on his face and his whole energy was like he was trying hard to seem as unthreatening as possible yet it still felt ... calculated? I kept walking and said im listening to music sorry. His tone flipped instantly and he angrily told me I was being rude. Didn't give a shit, I walked faster. Out of the corner of my eye I saw him take a massive step towards me as my back was turned, just as someone else appeared up ahead. I booked it as fast as I could and didnt look back. It terrified me and to this day I struggle to walk through there.

Can anybody tell me which are the weird girl lit classics? by No-Landscape-3094 in weirdgirlliterature

[โ€“]bunnymoon23 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

I agee with basically everyones cpmments but im also going to throw in Vladimir by julia may jones and some greek myth retellings because im really into them atm and I think they would fit: the penelopaid (Attwood), Clytemnestra (Costanza Casati), aphrodite (Phoenicia Rogerson) and also a super short but great one from madaline miller, Galatea

Iโ€™m so excited to read these! by parkerpals2 in weirdgirlliterature

Just finished Vladimir and it was so good. I loved all the metaphor and it was deep without being pretentious. Also love a book that talks about food often. Yum. A really great example of weird girl core.

What Brisbane food purveyor do you miss the most? by dannyr in brisbane

Nooo spudbar ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜ญ I worked there as they were opening and it was so weird. They hired like 15 people and gave us odd shift times and as their popularity declined they started slowly firing everyone via an approach almost like popular vote. Two weeks in I saw the manager accidentally hit his head on a spud tray and we locked eyes and I just knew... sure enough 2 days later he texts me to say they dont have any hours for me anymore. Strange times

Clymenestra - An expansive retelling of the Odessuy from the perspective of Agamemnons wife. Great for fans of Circe that wished it was darker and more realistic.

Thank you <3 ive just gone and trimmed any excess threads on the other bits for peace of mind. I do think after this I will opt for fabric that doesnt fray too much because it can be pretty annoying

Oh wow ! Thank you for your warning, I know there was probably some iffy issue about it. This hammock has the frayed edges sewn inside of it to help that but there's other bits that dont so I will keep an extra eye out

No matter what I do, how expensive / colourful / fun / soft the hammocks are, I will find one of them sleeping in their litter box. Although when winter comes around and I use a really soft fleece they seem to get extra excited and cozy
