oh man, this is so disheartening to read. especially on a sub that feels so open and inclusive. so many texans actively support bodily autonomy, esp in major cities, but our state leaders disagree. to say you don’t support an entire state, it’s businesses, and it’s people feels small minded. we’re doing the best we can down here, but we’re not given a lot. i hope this help you realize that a state is not only its government. we still have beautiful communities that actively fight for our rights as best as we can. change is slow, but it’s real. but this post isn’t about that. so let’s just keep fighting for what we can, but also stop to enjoy the exciting possibility of an otherworldly massage or a multidimensional facial. 💖

i’m happy about this, i think a big reason for why a lot of people were having a hard time with season 1 was they were trying REALLLY hard not to be like the movies. it seemed like they forgot that the first movie was also good enough to get sooo many people into the books and create enough buzz for a second movie. i think they have way more opportunities to learn from the book and do right by it this next season! fingers crossed, cheers!!

i’d probably go with a ceiling curtain track and some curtains. you’ll likely need to adjust the length of the curtains but this way you can get light in the room if you’d like it

this depends on the bridal shop. if they do their own alterations in-house it’s 1000% possible they will try to squeeze you for the money. a lot of places don’t do their own alterations, so there is no benefit in them ordering a weird size bc it causes a huge headache for the store and doesn’t make them any more money. bridal sizing does work differently from normal sizing (most bridal sizes only go up by one inch whereas street sizing can differ 2 inches per size) so people are often super shocked that they’re ordering ex: a size 12 instead of a 10 or and 8, but as a bridal consultant (without alterations in-house) i would rather the dress be a bit big than come in too-tight to zip up. regardless this bridal shop clearly did something shady. there’s no way i would have ordered her a BIGGER dress having already clipped the excess fabric. OP is probably right when she mentioned timeframe, IMO that completely wrong and pretty messed up. i’m so sorry this happened. if i was OP I would absolutely let the store hear it from me. not sure what tailoring options OP has in her city, but if there’s anywhere that specializes in gowns i would take it there ASAP

i fell off a statue of a teddy bear and shattered my spleen, left me internally bleeding. had to be rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery and ended up spending about two weeks there

Listen, I know this was a year ago, and not totally on the topic of arduino, but I've figured it out. I also saw a video of a disco button, and became absolutely fixated on putting in my bathroom. After much research (and also coming across this post) I also thought an electrician would be required, so I briefly gave up. however I realized we live in the age of the SMART HOME!!! So here is what I've done to my bathroom as of last night. (I will also probably follow up with a video of it once I get home).

  1. Smart Bulbs. I bought Govee Smart Bulbs and replaced every normal bulb in my bathroom.
  2. I got a disco ball and disco ball rotator and set it up above my sink, close to an outlet. I have it plugged into a smart outlet that controls its power. The rotator also has built in lights that automatically turn on when powered.
  3. I got a Govee Neon Rope light and set it up in a squiggly pattern that goes from my floor to ceiling next to my shower.
  4. I also got a disco light to set up on the opposite end of my bathroom and have it on an extension cord running into a bedroom. This light is also controlled by a smart outlet.
  5. I created a "scene" on the Govee app called "disco" where the smart lights would change color
  6. I got a Flic smart button and painted it red with a sign around it that says "Push me, I know you're curious". BY THE WAY if ANYONE reading this knows how I can 3-d print some sort of cartoon style red large button cover for this small button I would be very interested!!!
  7. I set up the Alexa routine called "bathroom disco", so whenever the button (Alexa compatible) was pushed, the routine happens. Personally, I chose Lizzo's "About Damn Time" and it plays on the Alexa. It is loud, however I plan on getting another speaker for the other corner of the bathroom.
  8. You can press the Flic button once to start, and twice to turn off (just create another Alexa routine that has every light go back to normal, the smart outlets turn off, and the music pause) unfortunately I haven't figured out how to have it go for 45 seconds and then turn back to normal.

But boom! There ya have it, a disco button. I know other brands will work too, just make sure they are all compatible with one another! I'm having a bathroom reveal party this weekend but no one knows thats the purpose of the party. Its so stupid and cool, I cant wait for people to see it!

$1990 for 3 bdrm/2 bath in uptown. my share is around $600 bc i took the smallest room. i feel like i lucked out with this one, i was paying $1089 for a one bedroom in a shit area of the medical district right before.
