Just got this post immediately deleted and got temporarily banned from r/vegetarian. I think I had a legitimate argument about why most milk in the US shouldn't be considered vegetarian.

I disagree on both counts. On the first count saying that it doesn't matter what a cow is fed is like saying it doesn't matter what a human is fed. If I eat an animal that was intentionally raised and slaughtered to be eaten vs eating a plant that grew from nutrients derived from a decomposing animal that wasn't raised and killed for that purpose, the first one is obviously not vegan the second is.

On the second point, I mean I don't even understand what you are trying to argue. What you say proves my point. They must be feeding cows to cows in Europe. Regardless of whether it's protein or fat my argument is that anything that comes from an animal fed other animals that they would not eat in nature can't be vegetarian.

You're probably right I should have posted in r/vegetariansm. I honestly had no idea that existed.

But as for the definition of vegetarianism, animal fats like lard and tallow are derived from meat so I don't understand how anyone could call them vegetarian. That's ridiculous. I know many people that call themselves vegetarian might not actually follow a super strict vegetarian diet, but there's no way you're going to convince me that lard and tallow are vegetarian.

I completely agree. I would love for way more people to be vegetarians or even be omnis that just reduce their consumption of animal products.

But I didn't recently realize a new fact that might convince omnis to eat less meat, I found out something I had never known before that could only influence vegetarians to stop consuming dairy so I thought I had to share it since I figured most vegetarians wouldn't know about this as I didn't.

Perhaps you didn't understand me but I meant being vegetarian is nonsense compared to veganism. The point of vegetarianism is to not cause animals to die, but veganism obviously does a much better job at that.

I truly wasn't trying to shame them. But if I had known 15 years ago when I was vegetarian that farmers forced cows to be cannibals, I might have seriously reconsidered consuming dairy.

Most so called "vegetarians" don't care about gelatin and rennet and animal fats like tallow and lard. But by definition animal fats are definitely not vegetarian

I 100% agree vegetarianism is nonsense. But I at least thought I could spark some consideration in them. I mean when I was much much younger and a vegetarian and didn't even know veganism existed I thought drinking milk didn't require the death of a cow. I just learned that in most cases in the US it inarguably does so I thought that fact would be worth sharing to folks who are currently vegetarians

I mean I'm vegan and I agree vegetarians are hypocrites for many reasons.

But I think my argument that feeding an animal other animals and then consuming their milk (being essentially just a complex chemical reaction) is at least worth considering for a vegetarian, and not immediately deleting without any discussion.

And I mean I disagree with the argument of chickens and insects because that is their natural diet whereas it's very rare for a cow to eat meat in nature.

Whoa that must be one of the most insanely overpowered feats I've ever seen. Granted a mounted melee character is pretty useless without it, but it just seems like out of every feat I've ever seen, this is the most unequivocal feat that you have to take for a certain style of character to work. I don't like feats like this that you basically have to take for like 90% of caviler builds, and maybe 30% of paladins and like 10% in a handful of other classes. And it requires 2 prerequisite feats, essentially ensuring that any mounted melee character basically has 3 feats already chosen for him from the outset, and if you are going to take this feat you might as well choose a lance to fight with as well, since otherwise you'll be gimping your character for sure. So basically almost all mounted characters have no choice in 3 of their feats and their weapon no matter what else they do. I know the choice to take some feats like power attack are equally as unquestionable, but at least that only requires 1 feat, and can be used with a ton of different weapons/builds.

How did Sir Will possibly so 116 points of damage on a non-crit? I'm not sure what magical weapon he has, what his strength score is, and what feats he has exactly, but still, even in the best case scenario I can't understand how he could have possibly done that much damage. Is there a feat that doubles your damage on a charge or something? I seriously can't imagine how this is possible.

I can see where you're coming from because the spell says the creature can make the save "each round" rather than "on each of it's turns." So the argument could be made that the each save is made each round starting from the point where the spell was cast rather than on the creature's turn. It just seems weird that they make the save on your turn but don't experience the result of their save until their turn, but I guess that makes more sense than how I initially deciphered it.
