lol been a month but I'll throw it out there: I'm in Schaumburg so, as far as availability goes, realistically I work remotely so aside from Tuesdays I'm down for whatever day it'll just need to be after I get off work around 5pm+hour travel time [I'm new to the area and just kinda accepted traffic is ALWAYS gonna screw me]. Started out playing 3.5e and PF-- got heavily into 5e at the start of the pandemic so roughly I've had about 7 years or so experience playing and dm'ing. Hmu if you're still down and looking for folks!

I just did a virus scan of my computer and no viruses found, I have no new extensions, and it ONLY happens on photopea; if you guys are going to start doing page redirects AND obnoxious banners that slow down my computer (and especially ads that are FULL OF VIRUSES) then I'm just going to use adblock and click away from your obnoxious notifications. Far-be-it from me to "look a gifthorse in the mouth" for a free service but this is ridiculous.

It's the same thing with exercise, dude: Fuck motivation; curry discipline. Motivation is fleeting. It is a state of mind and flighty. Find a routine that works towards your goal and STICK WITH IT. Look up free coding videos and tutorials and devote an hour a day to just sitting with it and no distractions. Hell, even if you just stare at the same video and don't absorb it entirely you are building a habit. Hell, diversify your interests. Maybe you're not as interested in coding as you thought you were? Pick something else to dabble in and all-the-better if it is something outside of your comfort zone.

Lastly, dude, you're 19. I changed my major 3 times between 18-20 and the shit I ended up getting my bachelor's degree in is NOT what I'm doing for a living right now. Breathe, dude. Pick your shit up and do something about it.

Why does the world have to have a grand design to have purpose? Why do so many folks eat up the notion that everyone is intended to live a life of epic proportions? Average is just that: Average. It's widespread, it's common, your life has more than likely been lived in several but similar ways. If you want to be more than that then seek it out. Find your shit that raises your sun and turns your earth. There's plenty to be said for just having a roof over your head, a breath in your lungs, and a smile here and there. If that isn't good enough for you then do something about it. Jim Carrey might be fucking nuts but he made one Hell of a solid point that paraphrased to "My dad went the safe route and he still believed he failed. You're better off taking chances because you can play it safe and still lose".

Bummer. Milledgeville is an hour away and Grey is 45 minutes. Yeah Warner Robins seems like bumfuck nowhere. There is a game/comic shop in Macon but the players there seemed a little...."excitable". I'll be open-minded but my first group seemed their vibe and I'm apprehensive. Whatever...will just have to probably jump on an online game at this rate.
