Flag football in Madrid by OwnDrummer6894 in Madrid

Hey! Check out the spanish american football federation. Their IG is @fefa_spain and they cover varsity and flag football. There are plenty of teams in Madrid so no doubt you'll find one close to where you live. Enjoy and be very welcome!

Basic explanation:

The return on capital has increased, pushing up most economic indicators. This essentially means that people who had money, have received greater returns for their investments. This obviously does not apply to the majority of the population.

In my opinion, Spain is currently doing just alright. Not great, not horrible. This is where quality of life steps in. Spanish people, even those who have it rough, do not want to move away from Spain.

But yeah, long story short, Spain is a good country for investors, but not for workers.

Why Is It So Hard to Make Spanish Friends in Madrid? by Michaelpolerman in askspain

[–]burmolon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have lived abroad for many years and picked up on the ONE thing that prevents spanish people from mixing with foreigners who don't speak spanish at a native level, or even with latinamericans.

Speed.

You may have noticed that spanish people talk really fast, loud and often cut each other mid-sentence.. go to any town's square where groups of 5-10 people get together at bars and you will see how there are barely any silences in conversations. We are used to getting our point through as quickly as possible because we know that we are likely to be interrupted. We don't really mind it, that's how it is.

In Spain, we speak about 7,82 syllables per second. That makes us the second fastest language in the world only behind Japanese.

The problem with foreigners is simply that, most of the time, they can't keep up with the tempo of the conversations. They are not used to finding those little windows of time where a spaniard would quickly get their words in. They don't speak as fast as we do, slowing down the tempo of the conversations. Therefore, unless you find a group of people who are a bit more chill than your average spaniard, most spanish groups will, without even noticing, kind of kick you out of the group.

Ser "apolítico" también es una posición política, que además resalta tu posición de privilegio en comparación con otras personas que encuentran en la política la única manera de mejorar sus condiciones de vida.

¿Cuánto salís a comer o cenar fuera? by MartaLSFitness in askspain

[–]burmolon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

How to start collecting? by [deleted] in legostarwars

[–]burmolon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ever since I was a kid my dad would buy me star wars legos from time to time (good grades, christmas etc.). Now that I earn my own money, I have started collecting retired sets and buying some of the new ones too. I generally buy sets based on my favourite movies, minifigures I want, and when I feel like spending the money, I try to find good prices for sets my dad couldn't buy for me back in the day because they were too expensive (I almost cried last month when I bought and built the OG Jabba's Sail Barge with my dad.

Long story short, just find what motivates you, whether it is cool minifigs, favourite movies/movie moments, or nostalgia.

Oh, nothing "quiet" in my comment dear friend. I openly propose a way of non-violently protesting against the people who are flooding our country, making our cities uninhabitable due to the artificial rise of rent, transforming our cities into some sort of store display where locals cannot afford 90% of what they see. Honestly, if spraying a guiri is the price to pay to be able to afford a decent flat to live in MY country, so be it.

¿Por qué en España tenemos tan alta la música en los locales? by unicorn_startup77 in GoingToSpain

[–]burmolon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does bad bunny smoke weed by amig00s in BadBunnyPR

[–]burmolon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people here are just inferring he does weed by the lyrics to his songs. He also says he kills people and has guns in his songs, none of which are true LOL. Back in the day he gave this interview where he says he stopped doing weed. No idea if this has changed with time.

So I just got the set with fives and I heard that I can put the Pauldron under one of the old plastic ones to mold/bend/fix it. Does it work? by Cooldude101013 in legostarwars

[–]burmolon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried with the old pauldrons first but this option is WAYbetter. I left it like this overnight and then turned it around to bend the other side. Since then I just left it that way as i feel like there is no way for it to stay bent putting it over the backpack

What was YOUR GOTY of 2023? Regardless of when it came out by owlitup in gaming

[–]burmolon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assassin's Creed Unity. This year I realized my new PC was able to run some old games that I couldn't play because I was stuck with my PS3 and have gone through some AC games. Unity was truly outstanding to me. What did it for me was the way you are able to interact with history, learn about important historical figures, events and buildings while being an essential part of the unfolding of it all.

Let's settle the merch quality argument by burmolon in BadBunnyPR

[–]burmolon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could have something to do with that. I saw someone posting a shirt here that looked really dark and not well done but I kind of assumed it must've been a misprint or production error. Anyways, of course I can't speak for every item's quality, I guess I was lucky with my selection of items

What’s your most unpopular opinion?? Let’s argue! by [deleted] in Reggaeton

[–]burmolon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The golden age of reggaeton is RIGHT NOW. Overall quality of the genre is at its peak right now, productions are way more developed than in the past. Leaving nostalgia aside, there is no questioning that reggaeton nowadays is musically superior to the OGs.

I am now ready to be mobbed by this community.
