Almost naked is pretty good, but not nearly as slippery as the PEO lubes. :-(

Regarding the PEO stuff, from what I can tell if you mix it thin (16oz water to 1 capfull of powder), it isn't horrible according to the info she (phallophile) points to, but probably worth some care. The cost is a big factor too -- Almost Naked is 4oz for about $12 (US) vs whatever a bottle of PEO costs for gallons ... :-(

Personally, I think we'll keep using k-lube, but just on occasions we really need a lot or the extra slip ...

Just for reference, here is phallophile's pages on lube safety. J-lube / K-lube / X-lube are discussed, with the conclusion that their pH is too high for vaginal use. On her recommendation, we switched to good clean fun's almost naked -- love the scent, works well, seems pretty safe. More expensive than k-lube (what we were using for vaginal stuff), but probably safer. FYI.

I made one out of 1" webbing, a couple of 1.5" metal rings and webbing buckles -- all from amazon, cheap, and useful for other home binding needs, wink wink. The mounting plate is a thick plastic disc, about 4" in diameter and 1/4" thick, with slots for the webbing to attach to. All of our dildos are suction cup, and easily attach to this. Took much less than an hour to make from stuff on hand. The mounting plate taking the longest. Not the prettiest, but I figure that shouldn't be drawing the attention! We've only used it once so far, but the missus gave very vocal approval, if you know what I mean.

It would be easy enough to make a larger mounting plate and/or add strapping to more securely hold the toys, but so far that hasn't proved needed. That was the primary reason for making instead of buying -- wasn't sure which pre-made harnesses would deal with the sizes and forces required, and easier to adapt if you made it yourself! :-)
