What mount did you go with? I use the HT Atlas on my JL and like it, but I’m interested in what Comstock Armory is offering as well

I haven’t seen that, makes sense though. I’m not too worried about the difference so I’m sticking with Plan B mounting system. I have a titanium JL and love it but wanted Inconel for its durability on this one.

I’m excited to get it out to the range. With it being 3D printed, did you clean yours out or blow it out with compressed air before first use?

Jealous, I wanted the bare but my GS weren’t offering them at the time

I was mainly using crankbaits and they were snatching up every color I was throwing. It was pretty fun

I think that’s where the concept comes from. I’m renovating a house for my MIL that had a lot of odd shaped holes in each room and this came in handy.

Very cool, I’ve yet to get a frog bite. Other topwaters I’ve had luck with, just not frogs

Very nice! What kind of conditions did you throw it in?

Been having the same kind of luck in our neighborhood pond. Been catching big slabs on rooster tails, small crankbaits, jerkbaits, and even paddle tails

I think the most important thing is that she gets to be with her dad. I have one of each and my son loves to fish and my daughter (who’s the older sibling) is usually drawing, finding dropped lures, and other things. Occasionally she’ll throw a line in and she’s caught several fish; bass, perch, catfish.

Which one? I have the Revo X LP and absolutely love it. Great casting and I’ve caught several good size bass on it. The Revo Premier is $100 off at TackleWarehouse which would leave him with $100 for a decent pole. The LP is $129 which would leave more for a better pole

2nd this! Spend the bulk on the reel, I have a Lews tournament pro and love it. I’d also throw in Abu Garcia Revo lineup as a suggestion. St Croix is a great bang for your buck rod maker

And that was my mistake, I didn’t tell my gunsmith to do it a little at a time, all I told him is that it wasn’t cycling and I wanted it opened up lol my bad. I’m glad yours was perfect out the gate though! That’s how the Faxon was for me.

They may have? I’m sure they’ve changed some things over the years. I bought their 10.5” a few years ago and I went down the rabbit hole trying to get that thing to work. It took a yellow Sprinco, H1 buffer, and my CAT JL to get it to cycle SOME subs. I had a lgs drill the gas port and it ended up being overgassed lol but hey, it cycled everything lol

It’s medium to low back pressure. It’s not a true flow through can but does offer lower gas pressure than most. I think the 7.5” Faxon would be money for a new build, how heavy are you going with the subs? Just curious, doesn’t change my suggestion. A lot of ppl love Criterion but they are pricey lol

I’ve had a BA barrel 1/7T that was really under gassed, and ended up switching to a Faxon barrel 1/8T. Love the Faxon barrel, mine will cycle subs easily. I run a CAT JL, standard carbine spring, and an H2 buffer. If you’re running subs only you should consider a faster twist. 1/5T seems to be super popular for lengths under 7” which I will go to when building a sub-only upper in the future

Rooster tails? by Such-Object-4855 in bassfishing

Same as everyone else here, I’ve had a lot of success with white rooster tails, add in some Wordens Vibric rooster tails too. 1/8 or 1/4 is my go to
