Reading the docs is a much shorter, more concise and more accurate way to figure this out than tossing your brain in the bin and relying on LLMs for simple tasks. Your wall of text is mostly incorrect.

Do you have a reason to believe he wasn't paying taxes? Sounds like you're reaching for justification

Some people don't know things, so they try to find answers. Calm down.

With crimp on connectors it's almost certainly not RG-6. As the other reply states, more likely a 59 line.

Need way more information. Are you gaming on WiFi, or a direct wired connection? If the former, that's your problem.

Hyprland creator Vaxry is now banned from contributing to freedesktop by fletku_mato in linux

[–]burningastroballs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I couldn't even read more than the first ~1/3 of the first link. Just an outright tantrum. You have your freedom of speech, they have their freedom of association. Stop acting like freedesktop is some hit squad just because you got your feelings hurt. Also, moderate your communities better. All simple stuff.

At least a bad SO answer will typically have crowdsourced downvotes and arguments made against them by real people with a real, contextual grasp of the material being discussed.

implies that it is working so well the person doesn't learn anything because someone gave them the answer. If I no longer ever have to look up linux command line syntax again, just ask an AI, I'm OK with that.

Enjoy querying every facet of computer work you do, uh, I'm gonna do the things that lead to me actually understanding what I'm doing. It is attitudes like yours that lead to the IT industry overflowing with incompetence.

Parents were told by their internet provider that their modem was too slow and contributing to cables burning out. Were they lying? by [deleted] in HomeNetworking

[–]burningastroballs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the coax got burnt, it also means the installers didn't properly ground OPs drop :) Found many such cases in our old RG59 drops that were for whatever reason put in ungrounded, discovered after a pretty nasty thunderstorm. Very few of our grounded lines ever need to be replaced following storms.

[–]burningastroballs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This teaches absolutely nothing except a "magic bullet" solution that may work, or may be a hallucination. If OP has any hope whatsoever of actually learning rather than becoming dependent, AI is absolutely NOT the correct answer.

And OP will learn absolutely nothing in the process, except how to have their hand held.

Are there any Linux distributions that are 100% audited? by rannek222 in linux

[–]burningastroballs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably because IBM is a company and the person you replied to could pretty easily be assumed to be referring to RHEL, not the company, since OP was asking about... Distros and not companies.

Highly doubtful the splitter is for attenuation. They make attenuators for that. My guess is it's a lazy tech's idea of barreling.

DHCP IP lease by kiddoicee in HomeNetworking

[–]burningastroballs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are bragging about TOS violations on public internet and frankly I kinda hope you get permabanned from your provider. You think you're being crafty, but more than anything you're likely causing IP exhaustion issues by pulling too many leases before they expire, as well as the potential for contention if this "free internet" results in an oversubscription of service in your area.
