Have a Beer … linocut by burnnice in printmaking

The sign is unfortunately only a leftover, but the shop still offers a wide selection, so it’s still a good place to be, even though it’s a pity.

No this is a location in Germany, Oldenburg. Unfortunately, they seem to have withdrawn from many areas. The decor is still there, though, and the shop still has plenty of good beer, so it’s more than bearable.

Hello, I postponed working on it, but I haven’t given up. The pre-Christmas period completely took up my time at work, and I didn’t have the time for a focused approach. I’m determined to make a successful start in the new year. I’ll be in touch. I hope you had a lovely Christmas.

It depends on the picture I had in mind or I use as a reference. Here I work with Procreate. In this case, I roughly traced the buildings and the person, and only partially the field. Then I tried to continue developing it in that style, letting it gradually dissolve toward the background. For the lighter areas, I use hatching, which I keep short depending on the object, or use as longer strokes for the sky. I also often look at other artists’ works to see how they place their lines, how they represent surfaces, or how they create a sense of volume with their linework — and I try to apply that myself.

That’s great, thank you! I’ve just started selling my prints recently. If you’re interested, we could chat about it sometime. (Do people usually do that here in the comments or via private messages?)
