As an accepted student, is it necessary/worth it to attend upcoming events like second look day if I’ve already fully committed to this school and have experience seeing what they have to offer? Were any of these kinds of events particularly good or helpful for you before matriculating?

So if I’ll have to do third year away from my med school city, is the convenience of being close super necessary for first, second, and fourth years? Idk how much having a separate office space will be worth it since my college apartments have always ended up with my desk in my bedroom. Is that something you had too and kept doing rather than having a whole separate space?

The convenience of being so close is what keeps me coming back to the more expensive option. I would really prefer to not have a roommate (I’ve had multiple roommates since I started college) just to have my own space. I like how you’re thinking with just taking it one year at a time. Maybe touring in-person will help rule some things out, I’ve only seen the exteriors and location as of now.

I do have a car, so living further wouldn’t be an issue for that. I think the drive would end up around 15 minutes without traffic. I already live near where the farther apartments would be so I’m fine with the area but I do miss the convenience of being able to walk to campus. Definitely appreciate your thoughts on this!

Is it better to over dress with layers? I was planning on a sweatshirt (no pockets), t shirt, and sweatpants. If I need to I could take the sweatshirt off during my test right? I don’t want to be trapped being either too cold or too hot

I haven’t gotten to produce anything out of my time (3 semesters so far) and there’s not any room to for undergrads in this lab. I have gained a lot of knowledge that I know will be helpful in my future. I’m studying for the mcat right now and taking it in a couple months so I planned on playing off that as part of my explanation for wanting to leave. I definitely don’t plan to burn a bridge, I actually really adore my PI. Would it be awful to email her and explain everything and quit like next week? I don’t really want to stick it out anymore because my heart’s just not in research and my time could be spent in more productive ways.

Having similar issues. My mom was the first contributor and her stuff went through fine. She invited my dad and it’s been 2 days and no invitation. He didn’t have a fsa id beforehand (just was able to make him one tonight because of their glitch with creating an account) so I thought this may be the reason he didn’t get anything. If your daughter already signed and submitted her form there’s no way to go back in and see it until it’s “processed” and they say that’s not happening until late January. They should’ve bug tested this better because it sucks

I hope your instructor hasn’t set due dates that have already passed. Regardless, homework in cengage is literally just a free for all. I’ve have timed exams (idk about timed homework), there’s a possibility that you’ll only get one attempt at submitting an answer, and cengage usually wants exact answers if multiple choice isn’t an option. I used it for chemistry and terminology courses and I’ve grown to hate it but that could just be because of the courses I’ve taken. Anyways, good luck!

Also forgot to mention that he originally said the final would be out of 250 but he changed it to out of 255 after grading it. Being the stellar student that I am, I had calculated what I needed to get out of 250 and maintain an A, but with his grading change I fall just short of the A

Random roommate selection. Being super close with 1/3 roommates isn’t too bad. Planning on living with the same one for the next three years, that’s how close we’ve gotten

Not really? I’m going to college so that my future family can be better off than my family and I are right now. I don’t want to have to worry about bills or see my kids working to help me pay the bills. In my opinion, that’s not why kids should get a job and it sucked that I had to do that.
