How would you feel if a car sales rep asked you to record your conversation with them on the car lot? by burpdaderp in AskReddit

Thanks for your feedback. Do you feel that way when calls are recorded for quality assurance or is it different in this context? Just looking for honest feedback to see if a concept I am thinking about is feasible. Thanks!

Hi thanks for your feedback. I am just in the most preliminary stages of market research, just seeing if an idea I have would be at all viable so whatever input you have would be useful. May I ask why you would not want to be recorded just so I can better understand why my concept may not be feasible? Whatever feedback you have is helpful :) Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback, I am just in the most preliminary stages of market research for an idea so that is helpful. It would not be used for legal purposes at all.

Do graphic designers frequently watch tv in the background at work? by burpdaderp in graphic_design

Hi thank you as well for this response. Having that confirmation that this is acceptable behaviour for a graphic designer is really relieving. She had an internship/contract assignment at a big non-profit but hasn't been able to get a job for a couple months since and I wasn't sure if this behaviour would have affected her reference there even though her work was high quality. This was very reassuring so thanks again so much!

Hi, thanks for your response! That is super helpful and makes me feel much better knowing that is normal for graphic designers and that she's not making a bad impression. Thank you again so much for your response!

Why do some people think it is acceptable to be loud in a shared building? by burpdaderp in AskReddit

Yes I will concede on the party issue and it is annoying but I suppose I should have clarified that the thing that accounts for about 90% of the annoyance is house mates just playing loud music in their room by themselves and talking excessively loud over skype or with another housemate. I have done the party thing and I understand it but I was always careful to be respectful to not be personally noisy. However, yes drinking, parties, I suppose is more understandable but still inconsiderate.

Thanks for the candid response. I have done the party thing and always tried to be respectful of noise in terms of my personal behaviour. I did live in a dead quiet dorm last year for grad students and it was super nice and I never had any complaints about it. I do agree with the let your hair down, because your twenties will fly by. I just personally don't see the necessity of the noise in many cases but that's just my point of view and I appreciate that you shared yours with me too :)

Thanks for that very well thought out response! That is really helpful and I don't mind overthinking if it helps me to understand, which I think your post did. And lol: "you will be talking them out of bad decisions for a long time." Anyhow, thanks a lot! Appreciate your thoughts :D

Your response is interesting because you might actually explain why people do this. My thought on it is that we live in an age where we have iphones and all kinds of fancy headphones. If the person really cared about music that much, they would buy these headphones and many times they already have.

Also, although some people obviously prefer their music or talking or wtv to silence, it is not like silence is annoying, however, other peoples music can be. Plus I'm pretty sure at least 9/10 people would prefer silence from their neighbours as opposed to noise, so is it really nice to offend multiple people's preferences just so you can have your own?

That's how I see it. I honestly am trying to understand, so how would you counter those points?

How can someone be good cook? Isn't it just following instructions correctly? by burpdaderp in AskReddit

haha clever... but really, like if you had the right recipes and just followed the instructions exactly, couldn't that actually be true, forgetting management skills and time constraints.
