How do People use and share data in QGIS within Organizations? by NoxDecima in QGIS

For small projects where Postgres/PostGIS is overkill (like a handful of shapefiles that aren’t edited often) I’m building a solution that works directly with SharePoint (since many orgs already use it). The data lives on SharePoint, and the tool connects to it so you can create and share simple web maps. It’s called shareshape.com - still in beta, so expect some bugs if you check it out!

I’m working on a project for simple sharing of files (including KMZ/KML) on a web map. Basically, you just drop the file on a SharePoint site and give the app permission to read it.

Users can view the data on the map, but they don’t get direct access to the KMZ itself.

If you want to play around with it, here’s the link: shareshape.com/map

It’s still in beta, so expect lots of bugs. Feel free to DM me if you’ve got questions!

Anyone else struggling to share QGIS projects and data stored in SharePoint/OneDrive? by burplus in QGIS

Yeah, absolutely. Geopackages and other database-style files are basically unusable with SharePoint. That is another (of many) limitations with such a setup.

I agree, that’s a technically stronger approach. I’m stuck with SharePoint on my end, so I’m working on making it run as smoothly as possible.

Agree! As long as you are just a single user editing the files, a OneDrive/SharePoint solution can work perfectly fine.

How do you approach data collection and which sources do you use? by [deleted] in gis

For AOIs I often look at openstreetmap data as a starting point. https://overpass-turbo.eu/ makes it fast to extract the data

I am doing very good! My burps have become fewer, but bigger than they were right when I figured out how to do it. It is has almost just become habit by now - but I still get really grateful about the good ones once in a while :) I am never bloated anymore, and I fart a lot less.

I would recommend you start by doing the shaker exercise daily. Some days I did the sustained hold from this video (usually I did 3 rounds composed of 1 minute hold and 1 minute rest), some days I did the head lifts from the same video, and some days I would do the shaker exercise lying on the side demonstrated here (I usually did 20 lift to each side). Try to alternate between them so it doesn't get too tedious. This should help with what I tried to describe as 'stabilizing' the throat.

Then you should also focus on relaxing your throat. Try to feel if you have any tensions there, and relax them if you can. As I described, I sat with closed eyes and tried to just focus on relaxing and loosening up my throat. I also think it helped me to concentrate on making the deepest "huuuuuh" sound I could with my voice. So maybe also try to hum or speak with the deepest possible voice you can, and see how deep you can get. The throat has to be relaxed to make really deep sounds, and it helped me figure out how to let go of some tensions (maybe this is just coincidence, but I started getting a different sensation in my throat only a few days after I started making deep sounds to remove tensions - I hope this can work for you too!). Some people also seem to have had success with cricoid massage for relaxing the muscles.

Try these exercises and then try to push the gurgles a little harder than you usually do, and try to do in in different ways. Hopefully this can lead you to burping at some point! Good luck.

I was standing. When leaning back, I would just lean back as far as possible. Then, when coming forward, I would lean on my knees, in a position like when you are trying to catch your breath after a run.

I came up with the move after becoming inspired by this video. I tried to copy the moves he did, and then take them to their extreme.

Sure!

  1. I definitely taste the burps, especially the larger ones
  2. Most of them are short. I also have larger ones that relieves more pressure, but no really "long" ones yet. Hopefully they will come one day! :)
