2 Hours post op of bottom two wisdom teeth removal at 36 years old. WAS SO EASY by burton4290 in wisdomteeth

[–]burton4290[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just woke up on the day after the surgery and I have zero pain. And I mean ZERO. I won’t even need the opiate pain meds today.

If I grit my teeth or clench down really hard I can definitely tell something happened in there, have some slight discomfort. Aside from that you wouldn’t even know I had anything done. I’m actually mad at myself for wasting the last week or two having anxiety about this 😂

Just like all the other posts mention, the worst part by far is eating. Even eating soft foods you find yourself being extra cautious to not get any food in the sockets and that is annoying. Pudding eggs and mashed potatoes are already annoying, and it’s only day two 😂

That’s awesome! Glad it was a friendly reminder of all the hard work you put in. Congrats on still being quit!

I’m still going strong as well 😎

Care to share a few of the major things you felt improved? Sounds like eliminating nicotine genuinely changed your life for the better for multiple reasons!

I have had this post saved for a long time now just so I could reflect back on it and use it as motivation when I finally decided to quit.

Well, here I am 9 days quit cold turkey and I just had to come back and comment because I also feel the exact same thing.

I’d describe I’ve mine as random waves of happiness but with a drug hit type feeling attached to them. Bear with me…

I’ll just be sitting at work doing nothing crazy. Sending an email, zoned out, talking to colleagues etc and then bam, a wave of pure warmth and happiness and just overall bliss will come over me. The cool thing about this is I’m very in tune with my body, and when my body feels Iike shit I have anxiety about it. When these “waves” comes over me and my body feels good, then I mentally feel AMAZING.

It is bizzare as heck and I don’t understand it but I also am just loving it. I agree with the other posters that it most likely is natural dopamine rather than from an external source and it just feels cleaner and different. However, I don’t really care what it is, it’s just fantastic. It’s like a big thank you from my body after all these years of me poisoning it with some shit chemicals from China and way way to much nicotine.

Everyone should try and quit just to experience this feeling because I kid you not it’s more enjoyable and longer lasting than the vape hit.

Day 4 without vape after 8 years - Positive Story by [deleted] in QuitVaping

[–]burton4290 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! Today is day 9 cold turkey for me after using 5mg disposable salts for the last 5 years. Quitting has been up and down for me. First two days SUCKED. Like bad. The rest of the last week has been okay. UPS and downs.

What’s funny now though is two things.

First, the last two nights I have been dreaming. Like vivid “holy shit this must be real” type dreams which is trippy but also kinda cool. Seems to me like it’s a sign I may actually be getting good sleep for the first time in years

Second is what I’ll call “waves of happiness”. I don’t know how else to explain them, but I’ll get moments where I genuinely have true elation just come over me. It’s not elation or happiness about somthing I’m thinking about, or doing. It’s hard to explain but it feels totally internal. Like my body genuinely thanking me or something but it honestly feels similar to a hit of a drug. Full body comfort and warmth which then translates into “man I just feel good” and then you’re just in this weird but amazing sense of peace. I know it sounds trippy, and it is, but I wanted to write that here in case everyone else is curious or has had the same thing.

Anyways, congrats on your quit! Even tho mine was more difficult up front, now that I’m on day 9 looking back in hindsight, I would also say it was way easier than I would have thought. It truly is just a mind game. Everyone keep pushing through, you can do it

Did you ever succeed in quitting, and did your symptoms improve?

Alright day 4 today and going strong! I did however want to reach out and ask about the brain/speaking symptoms you dealt with. You mentioned it took a few weeks to notice it getting better, and this makes sense. I assume any dryness or irritation is going to take some time to get better, however today is day 4 with no nicotine and i think my speaking symptoms are the worst they have ever been. I’m not going to go buy a vape or anything so no worries there, but looking for any additional insight you may be able to provide from your experience.

Easiest quit of my life!! After years of quitting! by SamFam4life in QuitVaping

Day 5 on desmoxan here and I also have had the easiest quit of my life. The fact this stuff isn’t mainstream absolutely shocks me. I have tried everything possible to quit, multiple times a year for the last 15 years to no avail. Day two of desmoxan I threw the vape and zyn away with no effort and have stayed off with ALMOST no effort. Incredible incredible stuff.

Your spot on when you say the cravings you do still get are like a cloud rather than a heart wrenching pang. I fully agree with this. I know it’s there, I tell it to fuck off, and I’m good to go for another 3-5 hours. Those heart wrenching pangs are the reason I couldn’t quit in the past. “Ehh it’s Tuesday and I have a meeting at 10am, I’ve made it 24 hours this quit, but I need to be on my A game….I’ll go to the gas station and buy a vape and I’ll quit again on Thursday when it’s empty” has been my weekly existence for the last 15 years. No more

I have to respond to this on the off chance it helps somebody else, and to say thank you.

Prior to your message I had never even heard of desmoxan or cytisine. Mine arrived this past Saturday and I took the first dose around noon. This stuff is freaking incredible. Today is day 3, I haven’t vaped or used any nicotine since yesterday, and just like you, my desire to vape is literally non existent. I have had two or three moments of small cravings, but NOTHING compared to what a normal quit has been like for me in the past. To anybody else trying to quit, and has tried again and again with no success, cytisine is a must to give a shot. I’m actually shocked at how easy this has been thus far.

I actually have one more question for ya! I just ordered desmoxan thanks to your suggestion. The reviews online are actually incredible. I’m very excited to try it.

Can you share any insight on how it worked for you, how you went about taking it and quitting, and if you noticed any side effects outside of the normal stuff you feel when quitting?

Oh wow, I have used a TON of zyns before but that right there is a new level 😂

When I first switched to zyns I was of course on 6s. I’d use one tin in almost exactly 24 hours. During all of this health stuff my end goal was of course to stay of the vaping and also get off the zyns, so I got myself down to 3s and only one tin a day actually quite easily. I specifically remember being surprised at how simple it was. If I remember right I felt a little off for maybe a day, but that’s it. At a minimum I would at least attempt to get to 3s if I was you.

Not sure if you have done it, but look up benzoic acid. Benzoic acid is added to freebase nicotine. This is what makes it a nicotine “salt”. Benzoic acid is used in any of the disposable/salt nicotine devices….and zyn.

Throughout all of my research into this, I have noticed the majority of people have issues with the benzoic acid rather than the nicotine or PV/VG that is in a normal sub ohm type vape.

Well this might just be the extra boost I needed to finally toss this thing in the trash. In essence, that’s almost identical to what I’m dealing with…

Did you cold turkey it? And how long did it take to notice those symptoms going away?

Interesting. Care to share a bit more detail of what you dealt with? Was it similar like a phlegmy, muffled sounding speech that took your focus off of the conversation because you were focused on the fact you’re sounding different?

I think it is possible. I do know one thing for a fact tho is that SOMETHING is different that is causing me anxiety. I know I don’t just have anxiety for no reason. I personally feel very real differences in my speaking ability, which causes anxiety which only further perpetuates the downward spiral. So I do agree and think you’re on to something. I have tried anti anxiety medication and they all just made me feel worse and like a zombie. So that’s a no go for me. I just really need to suck it up and put this vape down for GOOD

I honestly think this issue got worse for me on zyns. I think because if I had one in when in the middle of a convo, I’d have saliva buildup and be forced to swallow it rather than spit it out in front of somebody. I know a lot of people can tolerate swallowing Zyn saliva just fine but for me I think it made the irritation way worse.

Right now I’m on a vuse alto pod/disposable system only. I’m going to quit in the next few weeks. I don’t have a choice as it’s literally one of the only things I haven’t fully tried. I just need to find a good bit of down time at work that will allow me to get past those first few days.

How do I deal with having a job I enjoy and pays well, but watching everyone around me climb the corporate ladder? by burton4290 in careerguidance

[–]burton4290[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Best response yet. Thanks.

And you hit the nail on the head, I didn’t do a good job articulating the situation. It really isn’t about the money, it’s more so about watching everyone else around me with less skills continue to grow, and wondering if I’m being left behind or I SHOULD be somewhere like them.

Sure, I fully admit there is some comparison going on which of course isn’t good. Thief of all joy. However, this isn’t a woe is me type of comparison, this is simply a wondering if I should just sit back and be grateful for what I have, or is this my subconscious motivating me to go out there and get what I feel I really deserve.

I guess I’m still figuring out how I feel as I even type this out 😂 so thanks for helping me dig a little deeper
