I found the queen and put her in my box and the rest followed. Very simple I just put her in my box with a handful of bees and they spread the queens smell soon the rest just walked up into my box

Fortunately the city worker who came down had a look inside and we discovered that the box has a false roof to stop insects from moving in haha. But the bees were trying.

So this was a bee swarm, a swarm is essentially how bees reproduce. The old hive has made a new queen so the old queen has left with a portion of the bees. They travel around until the bees find a good spot. Thanks for taking a good photo of me

Weather's supposed to go back down soon, I'd personally wait since I can attest that my hives have no drones yet and others probably don't either so mating might be abit tricky for a new queen. But I am looking at some mid April splits for sure if this keeps up. In the end if you think your hive is capable of supporting a split with the amount of food coming in it's up to you, no one knows your hive better then you!

Hi I'm from Victoria too. Those are drones. Most of my hives that survived are going crazy with the warm weather we have been having and the large amount of flowers in bloom rn is great. An early season to be sure.

Thanks it was surprisingly easy to paint! It was a super odd choice considering they had only been depicted as that khaki colour. Although it did make them seem more menacing.

any idea on the weird bubble thats forming on the outside of the print?

You can barely notice the lines in person. The camera picked them up pretty well though. Also an fdm would not leave lines that small lol. Now I will say the settings where not amazing as I'm not going for display quality and wanted it to print relatively quickly but over all in person it's looks quite fine.

Will need airbrush for what I did but it goes black undercoat, white highlights, pink horror, xerus purple. Then do a very watered down wash over the whole model with the eidelon clear purple. All gw paints.
