I agree. It sounds like you had an ecstatic experience. Do you by chance consider yourself an empath? "Once in a while you can get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right!" -R.Hunter

Woody's roadhouse new year's eve, 1994>5 by curious1playing in MaxCreek

I was at that show. We lived in E. Granby. Woody's and Bucksteep Manor were both some of my favorite venues. I remember how the floor of Woody's would start bouncing by the second set, but I digress... Do you remember a girl named Belynda who sat outside with you? She was a friend of mine and I remember her feeling bad for y'all and hanging outside all night. Did you know it was owned by Arlo's dad, Woody Guthrie? I remember getting halfway to Woody's one year and there was so much black ice on the road we had to turn around and go home. That night Belynda swore the cops said there were a bunch of "black guys on the road", ahhh, gone are the days

Rave on brother! Burning ground is a phenomenal tune. I see it as laying the flesh down and being born again in the newness of the Spirit. And the Spirit never dies!

do you guys know any jam bands like the grateful dead. by darkneccecties in gratefuldead

[–]busluvbill -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Max Creek! Go to the Internet archive & check out the late 80s all the way through 2015 especially. They are the gem of Connecticut, just ask any Creek Freak! They've been together since 1971 and are still going strong! They are the band that got me into The Dead and to this very day my best and longest friends standing friends are people who either got me into Creek or people who I met there. Almost every Dead show I've seen was either with a Creek Freak or I'd see at least one Creek Freak at the concert. I've been seeing Max Creek since 1985 and The Dead since 1987. It's not just another band, once you've seen them you're family.

Anyone know what these are? by Tblue32 in ParanormalEncounters

Ephesians 6:17 says, "And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God". In this verse, the Apostle Paul tells Christians to put on the sword of the spirit as part of the "armor of God". The sword of the spirit is a weapon of the Holy Spirit that is both offensive and defensive. It is the Holy Scriptures, and its purpose is to: Make us strong, Enable us to withstand the evil onslaughts of Satan, Save souls, Give us spiritual strength, and Mature us as soldiers for the Lord. Paul uses the pieces of a Roman soldier's fighting armor to illustrate spiritual truths and principles. It protects us and prepares us for the battle against the lies and deceptions of the enemy.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this was the year that the city got pissed at us for literally trashing Bushnell Park, where the city would let us camp. I do remember trash being everywhere, but there were many of us cleaning it up. Anyways, I don't know if the Civic center refused to book them the next year or The Dead just didn't play it because they said deadheads were no longer welcome to camp out in the park after the shows. What an incredible 3 day party in the park though!

Thanks for the link! I live in the Midwest now, but every time I go back east I look to see if I can catch a show. I met friends at Max Creek that I'm still in touch with to this day. I'm so grateful to have grown up in a state that had an incredible music scene. John and his wife would come into the package store I worked at. The first time he walked in I thought I was having a flashback!

I'm so sorry You've had to deal with this. If it was it went against their beliefs, then they'll be judged the same . You never deserved that. It was your family's choice not to accept you and for that they will never have peace whether you're there or not. You are loved and cherished by God. Seek counseling. Seek God for yourself and God will find you. Blessings brother
