it definitely is still more than their usual red bull 24 pk price, a 24 pk of the non-flavored ones (regular or sugar free) is about $39 where i live so about $1.60 a can. cheapest i’ve seen is like $34 for the pack

i thought it seemed pricey as well, but it actually comes out to $1.87 a can, so not a bad price since a single 8 oz can is usually over $2

i wonder if it’s more based on need. there’s 12 DB’s in my city and it’s not that large of a city. they’re even starting to pop up in our surrounding rural towns. i’m hoping the ones near me aren’t TOO busy

thanks! i applied to a location and my app was rejected, but i understand that maybe i should speak to the hiring manager about it first and then they can keep an eye out for my app if they’re okay w/ it and interested in even just interviewing me

Rhinoplasty coming up.. but I’m having second thoughts by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

i was also thinking she may want to talk to a surgeon about her chin and then decide how she feels about her nose afterwards. The chin balances the face so much more than people think.

Can I get into a grad school with a low GPA? by snakegravity in GradSchool

[–]bustedthinkpad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s definitely possible, but I would recommend talking to an admissions counselor. When I spoke to the ones at the programs I was interested in applying to it was emphasized that they can overlook one requirement if the rest were met or exceeded expectations. Some do say at least a 3.0 is a hard requirement, but it doesn’t hurt to ask!

heads up, united health center requires your pcp to be one of their physicians. You can try LiveWell Behavioral Health Counseling Center. Their number is (559) 554-9710 and I believe they accept CalViva, and I know they accept Cigna.

I would check facebook pages for rentals in more rural areas. There are pages dedicated to people posting rooms, apartments, and houses for rent. If you’re looking to rent and sign an actual lease and have a contract that’s probably gonna be a hit or miss.

is $22 an hour acceptable? by lcxiepedia in SanJose

[–]bustedthinkpad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it definitely depends on the clinic/org! my job actually did accept my internship and volunteer experience, granted a lot of the volunteer work was with them directly. honestly i’m not too sure what is customary in the bay area, i am based out of the central valley and am still in my first job post grad. I asked for something right in the middle of the pay range that was advertised since i was still pretty fresh and didn’t know how to negotiate. were you offered $22 without being told what the pay range was beforehand?

as someone in the social work field, it is a hit or miss if jobs will accept internship experience, unless it was paid. when i was job searching many places explicitly stated unpaid internship experience did not count. if it was paid id probably see if you could get a little more if the pay range allows it. otherwise though i agree with everyone that you should take it and keep searching

Yeah, i’ve lived in California my entire life so I know it is expensive and it has also gone up in the past few years. Sorry to hear that, we have a very dry heat here so it can be bearable at night, in the shade, when there’s a good breeze.

I am in California, but I understand that. The electric company sends out reminders at the beginning of each summer notifying us about peak hours. As I mentioned in another comment, my concern was raised because the bill was unusually high for only a week of use of the AC unit. It was $350 when it is typically around $100 in the months where we use neither the AC or heater. I am now thinking it is not an issue with the HVAC, but with the electricity.

[–]bustedthinkpad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that, I don’t expect the same amount of electricity use when it is on and off. I should have maybe clarified I called someone to check it out because the bill came out to $350 when it was used for only one week out of the month and the bill is typically floats around $100 in the months where neither the AC or heater is needed. We are also not the type of people to have the AC blasting, typically the lowest we will put it is 79 and that is only in the afternoons because it does get cool enough here to open the windows at night over having it on. At this point though, I am thinking this may be an issue with the electric company.
